    Next Build 2008

I didn't do a LOT of testing, due to not having a real SLI board (one I had is borked). I did test quick with 2560x1600 with High... that was a no go. I believe the GPUs themselves are not the problem though, but rather the resolution and all the textures that need to be l oaded into the memory...

HD DVD to Die Before Week's End

Took a trip to Wal-Mart (ugh) this evening... surprised that they are still selling quite a selection of HD-DVD movies. The Blu-ray has an obvious priority on the shelf, but there are still quite a few HD-DVD titles there. None of them are marked down any, which I find kind of surprising.

What to do will all that Hardware from the last build?

You could try adding them to the PC and seeing if you could make the loudest PC on the block? I am kind of wasteful... I throw most everything out :-/

    Take a ride

Heh, I admit sometimes these videos are rather enthralling, but I'd much rather hop on a nice cruiser and just enjoy the ride. I value my life ;-)

    Your favorite movie(s)?

"Water-Cooled B****es"? "The Block That Rocked The..." I'm out. That's all I had.

    Spammer found dead

Ouch... I agree that I dislike spammers, but laughing about their death (and especially the way this one was brutal) doesn't say much about ones personality. I don't think the real reason for the death ever surfaced... and chances are it had nothing to do with spam at all. I sure know it made...

    Missouri Floods.

2.75"??? Hopefully none of that hits your house or vehicles... man that's ridiculous. I guess I should be more appreciative of where I live. The worst we get is some bad wind, but nothing usually to the extent of excessive damage.

Microsoft Serious About Punishing Gamerscore Cheaters

From our front-page news: Cheaters. Some love them, most hate them. Of course, we know that the people who love them, are them. To help eliminate them from Xbox Live, Microsoft has taken an entirely new approach to laying the smack down. Best of all, it's hilarious. If someone is caught...

Apple Safari - Soon to Be Real Competition to IE and Firefox in Windows?

From our front-page news: Last summer, Apple made a surprise announcement at WWDC about Safari's heading to Windows. To give that announcement some merit, a beta was released later that day. It was quickly discovered though, that the new browser was not much of a threat to IE, Opera or Firefox...

    OCZ CPU Cooler Roundup

OCZ is well known for their memory and power supplies, but we thought we'd see just how well their current fleet of CPU coolers held up. We pit the Vendetta, Vendetta 2, Vanquisher and even the old-school Vindicator against our QX6850 to see what each one is made of. You can read Bill's full...

Windows XP to Die Off at 'Some Point'

You said it. This OS has been around since 2001 and hasn't changed much at ALL. It's had a few updates here and there, but it was always essentially the same OS. In computer years... that kind of longevity is amazing, and it's not even close to completely dying off. As it stands, there is not...

ASUS Announces Splendid HD1 "Video Enhance Card"

Well, given ASUS' reputation for not wanting to release products that don't live up to their name, I have a feeling it might do its job well. My question is how good the software will perform, especially since ASUS software has never blown my away in the past. I'd really like to know what...

Picking out a 30-inch monitor is truly a chore!

I bet that most 28" displays that cost half of what a 30" do are rather lackluster (at least, they would be in my opinion). The reason 30" cost so much more is because much more expensive panels must be used. Unless of course you found a 28" monitor that offered 2560x1600, then I'll put my foot...

ASUS EAH3850 Trinity - three GPUs with one card

It's an interesting concept, but we are dealing with three 3850's here. For what this would cost, it would be more reasonable to pick up a 9800 GX2 which would kick its ass.
