    6-core Intel processors

I found another site that has that picture also :-) And yes, I am lame. At least I admit it!

anyone figured out the secrete to the Q6600 and the asus p5n e sli overclock?

You might have an older Q6600 that doesn't overclock too well. Download CPU-Z and see if the revision is "G0"... if it is, then you should be able to go higher. I loved the P5N-E board... it was one of the few "budget" offerings I've come across that have been so superb for overclocking...

Adobe Launches Photoshop Express Online Application

From our front-page news: We posted first about Adobe Photoshop's online counter-part just over a year ago, and finally, it's now here. Though still considered a beta, it's feature-rich and can help you get your basic tasks done. The only thing you need to bear in mind when checking it out is...

Windows XP to Die Off at 'Some Point'

That's something I would take into consideration. Some games, as far as I know, force DX10 mode while in Vista, but I could be wrong. I know whenever I launch Crysis, the window notes DX10, and I don't see an option to force DX9 mode. I know both Lost Planet and Call of Juarez allow you to...

    Are SSDs Causing Notebook Defects?

Tu shay Mr. Kougar... tu shay. Let's hope I was wrong and that it goes down even faster than what I claimed.

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Yes, that RAM should work no problem. FB-DIMM is FB-DIMM... Apple's is no different.

    OCZ CPU Cooler Roundup

OCZ's smartest decision was to move into other areas, because memory can only go so far. Their PSU's have done well, and as far as I know, so have their accessories and CPU coolers. They have some extremely smart people there, so I don't think they will often release anything that completely...

Windows XP to Die Off at 'Some Point'

I think there is an overall FPS decrease in Vista (well, I know this), but I don't think it's major, but rather something like 5%. If I can find time, I'd like to follow-up our old "Vista vs. XP" with our current fleet of games and on identical hardware (both ATI and NVIDIA) and then get some...

Apple Safari - Soon to Be Real Competition to IE and Firefox in Windows?

Saw about that security hole... that's nuts. There were a few holes in the initial Windows release also, when it was launched last summer. I am SO drawn into Firefox that I don't think I could just drop it that easily. I've been using it since before it was ever called Firefox... and no other...

Picking out a 30-inch monitor is truly a chore!

You said it brother! Just a note, I received the monitor on Tuesday and haven't regretted my decision, that's for sure. I received a slightly newer revision, although I'm not sure what the differences are. However, one thing I will mention is that this display does have some...

ASUS EAH3850 Trinity - three GPUs with one card

I think the novelty of this thing would increase the price drastically... it seems to be that it's more of a concept than anything. I'm really interested to see if this goes anywhere. If it does, then cool. It will keep things interesting, and make our GPU purchasing decisions evermore difficult!

    9800gx2 performance.

I haven't read the reviews myself, but I think I pretty much saw what I needed to. I am a firm believer that to see the most from triple-SLI or Quad-SLI... you need a 2560x1600 monitor. Considering that even at 2560x1600, the performance is good all around, most people run 1920x1200... and...

    On Back order

No idea... but inc. Vat, £255 would be over $500 USD. I wonder if that's accurate, or if it's just more expensive at that particular e-tailer?

    6-core Intel processors

I have no doubts we'll see Octal-Cores by year end, but I'm sure they will be based on the current-gen Penryn instead of the new Nehalem. I don't think we'll see an Octal-Core offering of that until Spring 2009. Am I wrong, or lame in saying this thread has gone hardcore? :-(

    Techgage Benchmark Scoring Thread

Oh there is no question. You could get 8GB of DDR2 for cheaper than 2GB of DDR3... it's a no-brainer as far as I am concerned. If you were looking for the absolute best performance, then DDR3 would make sense, but it's still a huge premium.

    Defrag @ boot

Can you take a picture of this? I don't understand how Windows itself would defrag on boot. Unless you have some third-party application installed that would enable this, I still think it's a CHKDSK. Regardless, it still sounds overclocking related.

    Advice requested.......

If that's the case, you WILL notice a rather significant difference (I hope). I don't see a huge difference between a new 7200.10 and 7200.11, except for those light copies that I mentioned.
