    Intel Skulltrail Enthusiast Platform Preview

Consisting of two Extreme Quad-Core processors, Intel is looking to redefine what we know as "high-end". Skulltrail is touted as being the "ultimate" enthusiast platform, offering SLI and Crossfire support, huge overclocking abilities and enough sheer power to make the competition weep. You can...

    PSU or mobo issue?

I don't have the time this weekend to swap out PSU's, and the only other one I have is an OCZ ~700W which is in my main rig, so I can't so easily move it. Manual e-mailed.

    PSU or mobo issue?

Yeah, both the 8800GTS 512 and 8800GT card (both ASUS) have the problem. The Palit 8800GT and one of the ASUS 8800GTS 512s work fine. The board requires two 8-Pin EPS connectors for overclocking, but thanks to Canada Customs, I didn't receive it yet, hence why I ran out to pick up this PSU. I...

    PSU or mobo issue?

Tested different slots as well... that's how I originally found out about it. It was the bottom card that was "faulty".

    PSU or mobo issue?

I tried three different PCI-E connections... all the same. I just purchased this PSU for this purpose... so I can just bring it back. I don't think the 8-Pin trick would work, because I tested it also by plugging in the straight 6-Pin PCI-E cable it offers and still had the same problem. I...

    PSU or mobo issue?

Hi all, I have a weird problem I hope someone can help with. I have two different benchmarking rigs here, and the one I need seems to be rejecting certain GPUs, for some reason. For example, I have two identical 8800GTS 512 cards, and one works just fine, but the other spawns a "Low power"...

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

That comparison still doesn't make any sense... except for you. And my Q6600 does not go that high... it is lucky to get 3.0GHz stable. Newer Q6600's clock higher, mine doesn't.

    Almost, but no cigar

It just goes to show how much clue they don't have. It's ridiculous to take a PC that costs as much as a small car and run three-year-old games on it. In no way does that make any sense. Not to mention that they run Doom III, a game no one plays anymore, instead of Half-Life 2, a game that's...

    Time to fly nude!

Well that's another problem. There might not be enough lavatories available for people to puke in at one time.

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

Hmm... I don't get it. How is a 3.6GHz Quad-Core comparable to a 3.0GHz E8400? I think simple math would explain the differences that would be seen. That said, I don't have a G0 revision Q6600 and it would never hit 3.6GHz stable in its wildest dreams.

I don't have one here, else it would have been used. Sorry for the omission.

eBay Sellers Upset at New Rates

From our front-page news:I received an e-mail from eBay the other day, noting lower rates. After I picked up my jaw and scratched my head due to confusion, I simply accepted the fact that "feebay" decided to begin pleasing their sellers, instead of making them irate. But it looks like I spoke...

    Time to fly nude!

It seems nudism is very popular in Germany, where it's called Freikörperkultur or Free Body Culture, and travel agency OssiUrlab says it will allow nudists booking a day trip to the Baltic island of Usedom to fly nude. http://blog.wired.com/cars/2008/01/fly-the-friendl.html Sheesh. I'd go, but...

    FS: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L

Sold - FS: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L Hi all, This is a decent motherboard that retails for around $100... it's based on the P31 chipset and performed quite well in our testing: http://techgage.com/article/gigabyte_ga-p31-ds3l/ Cost is shipping... $20 to anywhere in US or Canada. In order to...

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

I doubt that's much to worry about. The voltage on that board wouldn't be higher than 1.2v, and that is the stock voltage. It could run with less, but it won't hurt anything to run it with 1.35v or less. The 8190 doesn't support virtualization or Intel TXT (trusted execution technology)...

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

Intel's 45nm Dual-Cores have finally arrived, so it's only fitting that we take one for a spin. Our test subject is the 3.0GHz E8400, offering 6MB cache, SSE4 and more. Overclocking is impressive, with 3.8GHz stable being possible without even raising the voltage! This chip definitely proves...

Windows 7 Could be Launched in 2011

From our front-page news: Last week, I linked to a rumor that Windows 7, the next version of our beloved OS, would potentially be released in late 2009 - only three years after Vista. But, as is becoming far too common lately, it turns out the rumor was fully unsubstantiated and has been...

    Fresh 9800GX2 Pictures Leaked

From our front-page news:There have been a few websites to leak G92 pictures in the past month, but Chinese site ChipHell has those all beat with a few shots of their own. These images come at a perfect time, since AMD's HD 3870 X2 launch was just yesterday. The first fact most people were...

    Nikon Announces D60 D-SLR

From our front-page news:Whenever Nikon sends a release along the wire, I tend to get excited. The inner Nikonian comes out and I eat every word. This time was a little different though. The D60, at first glance, doesn't look like much more than a D40 or D40x, but looking closer, there is...
