    Ouch. Totaled 2008 Viper SRT10

Although I'm generally not huge on American cars, the Viper is one exception. It's styling is incredible and screams "beast" and "drive me like there is no tomorrow". Well, one of the four special edition Vipers in So Cal are no longer with us...

Playstation Store to Receive Revamp Mid-April

From our front-page news: If you thought that the current Playstation Store was ugly, then you are in for a treat. The entire store will be revamped and unveiled mid-April, via a firmware update. Although the current store works, I never found it to be visually appealing, and for such a great...

Is Gentoo Linux 2008.0 Ever Going to See the Light of Day?

From our front-page news: If there is one thing Gentoo Linux can't seem to catch, it's a break. Since the 2007.0 release, the distro's future has been plastered with uncertainty, all for varying reasons. Gentoo's developers mean well, but it seems something always happens that prevents smooth...

    Blu-ray Sells Nine Millionth Movie

From our front-page news: With Blu-ray being the only high-definition format, you might be thinking that there is no real competition. Well, you'd be right. Thanks to the sudden boost of exclusivity, Blu-ray has just sold its nine-millionth movie, thanks to No Country For Old Men, a current...

Creative: Doing Little to Please Consumers

Well, EAX uses a hardware-based DSP, but I think in the end, the term was more of a marketing term than anything. Essentially, game titles that offer EAX support support far richer surround-sound than a normal sound card, or so Creative claims. I cannot state any facts, since I have never...

ATI cuts prices on the 3850 and 3870

I'm all for seeing that happen, as long as the game developers focus more on gameplay than graphics ;-)

    Running Dual Graphic Cards

Yes, that's all you need. If the bridge didn't come with the motherboard for some reason, then one should have come with one of the GPUs.

    9800gx2 performance.

That's funny. I live in Canada, and I ordered my 7800 GT direct back in the day, and it arrived within five days. Of course, it carried an $80 customs fee, so I wasn't really a winner in the end.

    OCZ or CRUCIAL Ballistix

I remember that issue, but from what I recall, it was actually Antec's (or someone elses) fault, since they went ahead and made a certain PSU spec higher than it should have been, and for whatever reason, other PSU manufacturers followed suit. It was then that the motherboard manufacturers had...

    Not bad speeds

I can agree with FIOS... but even moreso, I wish Verizon was in Canada in general. I'd pay $100 a month for FIOS, easy. For what I'd get from my current ISP for $100... there's absolutely no comparison. Looks like we have virtually identical internet speeds Kougar!

New modder competition site, from MaximumPC

Wow, that's quite the margin bro! Huge congrats, it's well deserved! I've already voted on the new batch... and I have to say, it's daunting to go through every battle to vote on each set. I couldn't even finish! Some incredible mods there though... I admire the work of them all.

    SteelSeries Ikari Laser Mouse

SteelSeries feels their competition is doing things wrong, but does that mean they are doing things right? After taking a look at their Ikari laser mouse, we can wholeheartedly say "yes"! The Ikari is catered for gamers, and it shows. Simply put? The Ikari is the best mouse we've ever laid our...

    3.5 @ 437.7

1.47v on the CPU? That seems a bit high, but reasonable if cooling is sufficient. What's your northbridge voltage at? Glad to see someone finally got a hold of a Q9450 ;)

    OCZ or CRUCIAL Ballistix

I guess I have been fortunate... I haven't had issues at all. I can't understand why it would only be Crucial's modules though... they use the same chips that most other non-budget DDR2 used (given they are built in their back yard).

ATI cuts prices on the 3850 and 3870

I think it's obvious that 2GB of memory on a GPU is completely needless at this point in time, especially on a mid-range offering. There are no games or many workstation applications that will even remotely touch 2GB of RAM. Even the 2GB of available RAM on the ATI FireGL V8650 is ridiculous...

Creative: Doing Little to Please Consumers

I can. Damage control. Considering how time-consuming editing all of daniel_k's threads would be, I am doubting that it was a matter of a misunderstanding. Dale-CL is the moderator who was left to handle all the dirty work, but it was the VP Corporate Communications, Phil O'Shaughnessy, who...
