    Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet

You might be better off contacting the official customer support... the device shouldn't be jerky at all. It's unlikely to be the driver, but something that could have been shook up in the device itself.

OCZ Releases Slim Flex Water-Cooled Modules

From our front-page news: In an attempt to help power-users keep their overclocked rigs as cool as possible, OCZ has released a follow-up to their Flex memory line-up with the EX design. The biggest difference between the EX and previous releases is that a much slimmer design is used, so that...

Apple Announces its Last Year at Macworld

From our front-page news: In some rather surprising news yesterday, Apple has announced that the upcoming Macworld conference in San Francisco will be its last. Since the conference has always been Apple-focused, the fact that Apple themselves are leaving is going to make things very, very...

    ASUS Eee PC 1000HA Netbook

With a countless number of netbooks available, we're looking to see if the originator of them all still has what it takes to deliver a model that's both affordable, and complete with the features we're after. The 1000HA lacks the Bluetooth and Draft n of the 1000H, but still retains the same...

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Good choice of fans... I have the same ones used in a few machines here. Nice and quiet, but effective. The one in this main machine is so quiet, it's hard to hear the machine at all when there is nothing else on in the room. Not sure about about the noise level with seven of them though, haha.

OCZ Releases Throttle eSATA-based Thumb Drive

Are you sure the same applies to eSATA, though? I thought the point of eSATA was to create the ability to hot-swap drives. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding.

Steam's Hardware Survey Gets More In-Depth

The detail is great, but what bugs me is that the hard drive storage is capped at 250GB, and the RAM is capped at 2GB. Granted, 2GB would be the most popular, but it shouldn't be tied in with the "2GB and Above" option... that doesn't tell us a thing, really. The same goes for storage. When 1TB...

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

100°C... that is ridiculous. There has GOT to be some modules out there that run cooler than that. It's no wonder server environments are run with enough fans to put a jet engine's noise to shame.

Intel Core i7 - Choosing the Best Memory Kit

From what I recall, the minimum memory multiplier available on Core i7 is 8x, so that would require a memory overclock of DDR3-1440. If the memory can support an overclock like that, then it should work fine. If it doesn't, stock speed (DDR3-1333) will still give you a great CPU clock-speed of...

Intel Core i7 - Choosing the Best Memory Kit

Well, as mentioned on that page I linked to, I didn't have to increase the voltages, except for the CPU, and even then, it's nowhere near a dangerous level. The only voltage I changed was the CPU, which I set to 1.2875v. Other than that, everything else was left to Auto. Your CPU will be safe...

If you are feeling brave, you could try a run of IntelBurnTest. You might want to keep a fire extinguisher handy, though ;-)

Google Chrome Chucks its Beta Label

From our front-page news: When Google released their Chrome browser back in September, it took the web-world by storm. Within the span of just a few days, we went from first learning about it to being able to test it out for ourselves. After doing so, I was personally very impressed. Google does...

Windows XP - The OS that Just Won't Die

From our front-page news: Late next month, Windows Vista will turn two-years-old, at least on the consumer side, and what an interesting two years it's been. The launch was rough, but things started to smooth out over time, and for the most part, Vista is more stable than ever, and a lot easier...

Steam's Hardware Survey Gets More In-Depth

From our front-page news: If you've ever wanted to get an idea of what video cards, processors, or Windows' versions were the most popular, there's always been one great source: Valve. Thanks to the wide usage of their Steam platform, they've been able to collect details about PCs for those who...

Taking a Closer Look at Intel's Core i7-940

To be honest, I'm not even sure I had correct data, for either of the CPUs. Scott mentions in his article that the i7-965 uses a 3.2GHz Uncore Clock, but for some reason, I don't recall that. What I do recall was a 2.66GHz Uncore Clock for all three processors, although I could just be...

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Thanks for all the info, and I can't say I blame you at all. It's simply not worth stressing components that much for so little gain. The Northbridge theory definitely seems plausable, and I'd also like to know if water-cooling would help things at all. It'd have to be a good kit, because given...

    Nothing's working???

It's too late to say now, but GPU BIOS overclocking should never be attempted unless you have a specific reason for it. The fact that the auto-updater would go ahead and flash the card is a little odd, since there's a far greater chance of something going wrong with a GPU flash than a...

    Gateway M-7818u 15.4" Notebook

Finding a proper "multi-media" notebook for under $800 can be a little challenging, but Gateway proves with their M-7818u that notebooks can be both affordable and include the most important features you're looking for. In addition to fantastic battery-life, the M-7818u goes as far as to include...

That goes without saying. I'm definitely curious to see if you'll be able to hit it, because I wasn't able to with our E5410.
