Help setting up multiple sound cards in a single Windows box

I am not sure that you could tell specific applications which sound card to use, because most refer to the default. Unless the program itself allows you to select a sound card, then it's probably not possible. However, you don't need to go into the device manager and do things that way. If you...

    SabayonLinux 3.3

We have been a fan of SabayonLinux for quite some time, so we could not pass up a chance to tinker with their heavily anticipated new version. In addition to updated software, 3.3 brings about a new color scheme. It's also touted as being more stable, so let's put it to the test. You can read...

    DFI LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G

Mr. CAPS LOCK, It sounds like the ram is the problem, not the motherboard. I could be wrong though. I'd boot up with one stick of ram and test it, then the other if the first one was still slow. I'd also check inside the BIOS to make sure the temps are reasonable.

    27 days uptime

Well... I hit 45 days uptime this time around. Why did it stop? Power surge. The exact thing I knew was going to screw me up. It's what happens when you live in a bullshit apartment. My goal of course was 50, but I knew this was going to happen so I can't be that upset. Time to buy a UPS.

Hummer beats a Prius in environmentally friendly tests

I'll just quote my news posting: "The Toyota Prius has become the flagship car for those in our society so environmentally conscious that they are willing to spend a premium to show the world how much they care. Unfortunately for them, their ultimate ‘green car’ is the source of some of the...

XMS 3500 LL TwinX 2.0gb problem. Only 1.5gb recognized. :S

Alright, that's strange. I can't think of a solution right now... I find it bizarre that the ASUS software will not even install. Did you happen to download the latest version of the installer off their website? You might want to post this question in the official forum...

XMS 3500 LL TwinX 2.0gb problem. Only 1.5gb recognized. :S

I have a good feeling that your motherboard is at the heart of the problem. It won't allow you to use 2GB of ram and now will not even be detected by the ASUS software. I'd recommend downloading CPU-z: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-139.zip Read the motherboard tab once it's opened and...

    System Mechanic and Windows Vista

Hi kamel, Personally, I would -not- run SysMech with Windows Vista. That program is buggy enough with Windows XP. The reason is stalls is likely because it simply hasn't been updated to work with Vista. If iolo replies to your e-mail, they will probably tell you the same thing. I wouldn't...

XMS 3500 LL TwinX 2.0gb problem. Only 1.5gb recognized. :S

You don't need a floppy drive more than likely. The ASUS Update software that comes with the board usually supports updating the BIOS using the .bin file you downloaded. You might want to check.

    Amazing SNES collection on eBay

$500 almost seems like a good deal to me. He has to package those so that they will arrive in the same shape shown in the pictures. There are 720 of them... that's a lot of different boxes he needs to deal with. He certainly can't send them all in the same box. On top of insurance.. I could see...

XMS 3500 LL TwinX 2.0gb problem. Only 1.5gb recognized. :S

Hi N31L, This is a strange problem. One thing you may want to try is moving the modules from slots 1&3 to 2&4 and see if that fixes anything. It's worth a shot, though it seems unlikely to help. You might also want to see if a new BIOS is available for your motherboard. I'd also fish around...

    WiFi is completely unstable...

Hi all, Well, I am having problems with my WiFi and thought I'd come here to complain about it and hopefully get some guidance. The problem is... it's completely unstable, regardless of what router or network card I seem to use. For example, I am currently using the ASUS WL-500W that I...
