EA Sets Sights on Take-Two, Take-Two Wants to Wait

From our front-page news: Nowadays, acquisitions are almost as popular as beginning a new company. The latest attempt is courtesy of EA, who really, really wants Take-Two Interactive. Who can blame them? Despite Take-Two's shaky history, they own one of the top franchises in the world, which in...

Toshiba Officially Backs Out of HD DVD Camp

Hacking is a broad term. In this case, I just mean there is a LOT you can do with it... dig deep under the covers, so to speak. > "apparently it is an energy-saving project?" Hah, it's for cancer research. Energy-saving would be an oxymoron, since Folding@Home would keep the CPU running at...

Intel Announces Skulltrail - Pricing Revealed

Haha. A skull has two sockets and so does this motherboard, so it all makes sense in some form or another.

    Next Build 2008

What resolution is Crysis running to run that smooth with Very High? I'm curious. I have two 8800GTS 512's here I might test it out with.

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Thanks for the nice comments and sorry for the late reply. I agree with you and I should have actually covered that to some detail in the article. A workstation board should suffice no problem. The RAM issue is a good one too... I am unsure why Intel limited the maximum to 8GB on this board when...

Intel Announces Skulltrail - Pricing Revealed

I know of at least two people who were already planning to purchase it long before release, so there are a few out there. Those who want the fastest machine on the planet can't go wrong if they have the cash.

TRENDnet TEW-633GR Wireless N Gigabit Router

Where routers are concerned, TRENDnet may not be the first name to come to mind, but their popularity is quickly growing. On our test-bench is a perfect example as to why that's the case. If you are looking for a feature-rich N-based router for a reasonable price, the TEW-633GR is worth a look...

Toshiba Officially Backs Out of HD DVD Camp

Haven't seen you around here for a while! Stick around :-) The interface for the PS3 is much more refined than what's seen on the Xbox 360, in my opinion of course. It's clean, professional and even a bit classy. On top of that, it's easy to navigate and fast to boot. The Xbox 360 has an...

Keyboards might serve only one primary purpose, but they come in a large variety of shapes and sizes. Some might cater to gamers, others to media buffs... and others to those who want something small. We have two such keyboards here today, from Logisys and Hiper. You can read Greg's full...

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Reading back over that section, I admit I could have worded things better... or at least chosen a more reasonable car. "Most" shouldn't have been used - sorry about that. I was in a mindset where BMW 3 series is a car that costs more than a Ford, while the same theory applies to Skulltrail. A...

    EVGA 780 Mobo

Sounds like a good plan. I use 4GB of RAM in my main system, but I do run applications that will fully use it, so in my situation, I see a difference. But with normal use and gaming, 2GB is still usually enough. Gaming at super-high resolutions might benefit from more RAM though too... I should...

    Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard

I no longer have this keyboard - anyone else who owns the G11 or G15 want to test this out? I found a good test page here: http://www.renoise.com/indepth/equipment/crippled-chords-without-full-n-key-rollover/

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

To be honest, those boards would likely do well, but I recommended the D5400XS since it's designed for overclocking and includes features an enthusiast would want. If planning to go the with stock speeds and have no need for NVIDIA SLI, that might be a good buy, considering the 5400 chipset in...

WinXP Pro 64 bit free download

You could have both installed at the same time if you wanted as they both share the same serial key. I don't think the Microsoft servers care exactly what version you are using, if the serial key matches your hardware profile from the first activation, you should be fine.
