Where routers are concerned, TRENDnet may not be the first name to come to mind, but their popularity is quickly growing. On our test-bench is a perfect example as to why that's the case. If you are looking for a feature-rich N-based router for a reasonable price, the TEW-633GR is worth a look.

Mixed mode performance

Hi,

Nice review. I'm a little unsure as to any performance hit I might experience in 'mixed mode' i.e. g and n devices mixed on the netowrk.

Is the router capable of providing better than g performance to n devices when both g and n devices exist on the network?

cheers

$50 is hard to beat!

I keep my network on 24/ most days, so I was looking for a device to replace a combination of a 802.11g router plus a gigabit switch. Would probably have gone with the D-Link based on brand reputation except for a) this article, and b) Newegg currently has a $40 rebate (August 12 '08 to August 15 '08) which will drop the price to about $50.
