Welcome to the forums! What do you mean by "recommended way"? You can adjust the volume as you please. I normally turn the dial on the speakers about 75% and then adjust accordingly in the OS.

You should be able to just open it with:./hellanzb.py Python will need to be installed though, so if you get an error saying that it doesn't know what to do, then try an 'sudo apt-get install python'.
