Open Letter To Neversoft: Take Two Years For Tony Hawk!

Coincidently, for the first time since 1999, Activision is not releasing a game this year: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/no-tony-hawk-in-2008/ I guess I somehow predicted the future. I'm glad with the decision though, and it does indeed mean there will be another in 2009. With this...

Gigabyte's GK-K8000 gaming keyboard briefly spotted

Remember back in March we found out that Gigabyte was looking to make some of their own gaming accessories? Well, TweakTown got a first-hand look, and it looks... like a keyboard, which is nice. http://www.tweaktown.com/news/9419/gk_k8000_keyboard_up_close_and_personal/index.html

Student? Get 91% Off Microsoft Office Ultimate

http://lifehacker.com/388612/get-91-off-microsoft-office-ultimate Though there are things I dislike about the latest version of Office, $60 is an absolute steal! You need to be a student though, or at least have access to an .edu account.

    Far Cry 2 Trailer/Commentary Released

From our front-page news:I have to admit something. I have never completed the original Far Cry, due to being a wimp. I haven't completed Crysis due to my everlasting desire to give you guys content. But I still can't help but drool at a brand-new trailer/commentary that Ubisoft Montreal pushed...

Intel's E7200 Popping Up at Popular E-tailers, Priced at ~$135US

From our front-page news: When I took a look at Intel's latest budget chip, the Core 2 Duo E7200, back in April, we weren't sure of when it would be launched, since Intel kept quiet on the actual release date. Well sometime between then and now, it was pushed out to retailers, and is priced...

Is Valve Porting Source to Linux?

From our front-page news: Linux gamers have it somewhat rough. There are countless free and open-source games available, but the platform severely lacks commercial support. There are a few exceptions, but the key word here is 'few'. One of the biggest requests from Linux users is to have Valve's...

M-rated Videogame Sales to Minors on a Steep Decline

I don't think that would be so much of a problem, since a credit card would be required. If a parent hands over a credit card without even querying the purchase, then I think that kid has more to worry about than playing the latest video game. We might be coming to a time where kids hang...

NVIDIA to Simplify Their Product Lineup to Help Appeal to Wider Audience

Kougar, I am having a hard time disagreeing with anything you said there. I agree that NVIDIA has been the shadiest of the bunch, by far. I still love their GPUs as they offer the best performance for the money (right now), but I agree they haven't been helping things up to this point so far...

AMD Updates CPU Launch Schedule - Phenom 9850 Due In a Few Weeks

This is true. The fact also remains... Quad-Core processors are more than enough for anyone, unless they have a specific need. So making 12-core processors for a specific market does make good business sense. An 8-core would have limited use, and no use in the consumer side of things. Good points.

    Grr, motherboard benchmarks!

The only difference is the CPU. The max FSB with the QX9650, which I've been using for a while, is 470FSB. On the other motherboards where I wasn't able to hit 500MHz, I was using the Quad-Core, which is why I never hit the goal, I am assuming. It's kind of foolish, actually. With a Quad-Core...

Apple to open largest store in Boston...

Because Wall Street or Ars Technica posts about it doesn't mean it becomes information that should be used in a real argument. The dollar per square foot information is nothing more than a fun fact, it in no way represents anything more than the fact that Apple's products have a moderate cost...

Apple to open largest store in Boston...

The $ / sq. ft. information is beyond useless. Apple stores are small in comparison to Wal-Mart, and sell expensive products. Wal-Mart's average product cost is low, and given that Wal-Marts are at least five times larger than an Apple store at a minimum, it drags their ratio down. As for...

TorrentSpy Slapped with $111 Million Court Judgment

BitTorrent isn't illegal, it's what you download that could be illegal. It's interesting in Canada, because it's completely legal to download anything, music, movies and beyond. From what I understand, it's illegal to download it and share, though. But for personal use, you cannot be charged...

    Grr, motherboard benchmarks!

Apparently I don't know what I'm doing, because on a whim, I decided to install the E8400 and suddenly could achieve nice FSB overclocks, as seen in the ASUS P5E3 Premium review. Oddly enough, I did try Dual-Cores in the past, but they must not have been very FSB friendly. The E8400 opened up...

    9800 GX2 GPU

By the picture, it looks like the A3 includes Crysis. I'd be sure to check the eVGA support forums though, since sometimes there is an issue with an initial launch, which is why they'll follow-up with new revisions. Unless the revision difference really is just for the game, then I guess that's...

AMD Updates CPU Launch Schedule - Phenom 9850 Due In a Few Weeks

It seems a little strange that AMD wants to skip over Octal-Core CPUs entirely, since it seems to fit. Some servers might be able to use 8 cores, but 12 cores is quite a sizable jump. Sounds like they really, really don't want to put money into things where it's not absolutely necessary.

    16-year-old survives 25,000V blast

Is it common in some places for people to wear steel-toed boots when not working? I've never heard of it, nor know anyone that wears them on a regular basis.

M-rated Videogame Sales to Minors on a Steep Decline

From our front-page news: Anti-videogame renegades share one common trait. They love to point the blame at the retailer for putting M-rated games in the hands of children, and for the most part, I agree that kids shouldn't be playing some of the games on the market today. However, what's...

TorrentSpy Slapped with $111 Million Court Judgment

From our front-page news: In only what could be called an attention-getter, the MPAA lawsuit against TorrentSpy was successful, with the courts ordering the now defunct torrent-tracking site to pay $111 million, or $30,000 for each of the 3,699 infringements documented. This penalty is...
