Looking for suggestions for heatsinks to review

Prolimatech's Armageddon would be a good place to start since their Megahalem aka Megatron heatsink was the first new product to come close to and let alone beat a TRUE. Thermalright's Cogage Arrow and maybe Noctua's NH-D14 would be a good addition as well although the Noctua product has been...

    What EXACTLY are multiple cores?

Bravo @ Tharic-Nar. As was mentioned, hyper-threading will never beat a true, physical core but it's a nice little boost for those who do minor encoding and the like.

    OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB

Arg! Still out of reach as far as $/GB although I did perk up when I saw the chips allowed for overclocking. I wonder how long it will be before someone writes the code for an app and you see people trying to overvolt them as well? :p

    What EXACTLY are multiple cores?

I remember back in the beginning days of the Pentium D's there were a lot of eBay sellers and even well established eTailers that were touting them as 6Ghz processors when it was really two cores running at 3Ghz. I raffed. Rah, rah, rah. Like that. Should we confusing you with hyper...

    Comet off guard

Figures you can never grab a camera when you need one. Sounds cool, Rob. I for one would like to welcome our new alien overlords. :p

So is the 5770 like the top selling card in the world now?

I should have clarified a bit. The reason why I don't hold out much hope about Nvidia causing AMD to lower their prices because at the rate Nvidia it will likely be another 6 months before they can cover all of the price points. Look how long it is taking for them to launch their flagship card...

How Fast is TOO fast << Processors, USB3, Sata III, SSDs... >>

This would only be of use to the average user if they wanted to increase the size of their e-peen. Programs can load in the blink of an eye if the hardware is there. The only way they could load faster would be to tap into your brain and open before you even think it. I believe this would...

So is the 5770 like the top selling card in the world now?

I'd like to see the 5830 hit $200 to be honest. AMD may adjust their prices when Nvidia finally gets their act together but I'm not really holding out much hope.

    Intel Releases 40GB X25-V Solid-State Drive

C'mon down SSD's. Your price has a long way to go before I can dump money on you. Looks like a Caviar Black is still the way to go since Raptors are foolish expensive and noisy and I have abandoned the idea of a RAID.

    Intel DP55WG

Too bad I didn't ask you to see if they could leave off the foolish skull design with the light up eyes. I'm not sure who thought of that but it's pretty tacky. Most enthusiasts want substance -and- style. Not a motherboard that looks like it was designed by a 300lb biker who thinks skulls...

    Intel DP55WG

$140 from Gigabyte or Asus definitely seems to go further. Intel has relaxed their outlook on overclocking but they still can't hold a candle to Gigabyte.

So is the 5770 like the top selling card in the world now?

P * R * I *<------- sweet spot (5770) C * E* PERFORMANCE I'll take my A+ now teach! EDIT: Dangit! The forums didn't take my spacing although if I edit the post it still shows it. Oh well. I'll take another C- I guess.

So is the 5770 like the top selling card in the world now?

I'm pretty sure the 5770 will smoke a 4850. Overclock it and you're looking at 4890 or close to 5850 scores. That's my game plan anyway.

    Who really cares about eyefinity?

The canucks are in full effect here it seems. We love our beer, hockey and technology! I'm with you though, Envy. Owning multiple displays just isn't realistic and to me I just don't get that hardcore into it. Plus I can't put my wallet through the butt hurt that comes with the price tag...

    Who really cares about eyefinity?

Yeah, this... ...would really suck. ;) I do agree with you about the sides of the screens. While they aren't exactly cut off the image is displaced an inch or two from where it should be because of the wide bezel around most screens. There are manufacturers like Samsung who are coming out...

    Which One?

I bagged an 80GB lappy drive from Buy.com for about $46 before taxes with free shipping. WD Caviar Blue. Maybe I should try for another? I'll check out the NCIX contest. I had no idea it was going on. Thanks! I'm thinking about picking up an Antec Spot Cool to hit the VRM's on whichever...

    Which One?

I'm not a real file fiend like I used to be so I think 1TB would be overkill. My total storage spread over 3 drives is 320GB and I still have about 12GB's left. I'm just really jumpy about having pictures on the main drive since it is accessed the most. I wonder if I can find a dinky little...

    Which One?

I'm keeping the PSU (Ultra X4) and will be downsizing my Tempest to keep my rig away from my son. I'm not sure if I am going to use the NZXT Hades that I won or if I'm going to go full on budget and grab an Antec Three Hundred. Luckily my PSU is fully modular because the Three Hundred has...

Don't Miss Our Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition Review!

/drool Way too pricey. I'll stick with my cheap-o CPU's but that's a sweet chip and I'm sure it will be a great article.

    Which One?

Well, since SeraphicSorcerer won my 5870 :p I'm thinking my budget is about $800 including taxes and shipping. Luckily Direct Canada has free shipping on orders over $300.
