Looking for suggestions for heatsinks to review

Simmer... The test method used by Techgage is more indicative of what the average user will run into anyway. Sure, not everybody has the same setup but most enthusiasts that I know run a tower cooler with at least a front intake fan and a rear exhaust fan.

    Cooler Master R4 Fans!

The Scythe Kaze Q is a small (3.5), cheap, well made 4 channel controller and I am sure you could run the 5th fan off of your motherboard. It may be an option and it would look right at home in a 590. You could even stealth it pretty easily. It is going to be my weapon of choise in keeping...

Crysis "Xtreme" Particle Chaos Mod Ups the Physics

There are some who feel it is one of the most poorly coded games out there and that is why it is so hard to run. I have never played it and probably never will since it isn't my cup-o-tea but a bunch of folks at another forum have a mad hate on for it.

They look great to me. Pretty good CFM with really low noise plus they look pretty good too. Go for it.

I like heatsinks reviewed in real world applications. :D

    Mid-Tower/Mini-Tower Cases

Yep. The back 120 and top 140 are both Tri-Cool fans. I'm going to pair them up with three cheap-o yet kick ass Scythe Slip Steam 120's running off an equally cheap-o yet kick ass Scythe Kaze Q 4 channel fan controller so I can really keep things quiet. ***EDIT: Well, here it is. I have...

    The Sleeper

Nice. I certainly wouldn't have thought about mounting drives that way but it makes a lot of sense since you're planning a double rad setup and need all of the room you can get without restricting air flow. Keep going! I'm living vicariously through your modding. Hehehe.

    The Sleeper

Plasti-Dip has been a big hit on some of the enthusiast forums I frequent because you don't really have to prepare the surface. The downside is it can crack if it doesn't dry properly because of the existing surface or it can peel easily. I have been toying with the idea of powdercoating but...

    The contest is almost done!

Hey Tech-Daddy, you clearly have some pretty awesome modding skills. I wonder if Techgage would give away one of your modded cases as a prize? Hehehe.

Windows XP will Have Issues with Advanced Format HDD's

Any idea if a firmware update or other method would allow older drives to have this feature? If it does give back more drive space and were to give a boost to performance I'd be all for it.

    Mid-Tower/Mini-Tower Cases

What's a computer if you don't have something to stick the guts in? I have been flip flopping on which case to get for a while. My Tempest is too big and noisy so it has to go. I also have space requirements so nothing taller than your average, run of the mill mid tower. My choices at...

    The Sleeper

Having a Tempest and knowing exactly how all the parts fit together this is as interesting as it gets. I'm watching you make changes going, "Ooooh. Good idea!" Clap, clap, clap @ your neighbour. I didn't even think of using a larger drill bit. Years ago I did some metal work completely...

I wouldn't call Noctua's fans proprietary. They can be swapped out if you want something really foolish like a Panaflo Delta. I was thinking more along the lines of Arctic Cooling's fan on the Freezer Pro or just about anything from Zalman's XX00 series.

    Think your PC is dirty?

My old PIII 866 wasn't cleaned in over 5 years and it didn't come close to any of those. After owning my Tempest, which has air filters on each intake fan I won't run another rig without them.
