Intel Details Nehalem, Dunnington, Tukwila & Larrabee

It just seems like everyone is swapping out sockets alot these days, maybe it's just me, but in the past 5 years or so before my C2D, I only had my AMD socket 462 (Athlon XP) and 939 (A64). Now they are starting to jump all over the place, sure would be nice to keep things the same for a little...

Intel X48 Motherboards to Show Up This Week

GDR5 is on its way (maybe, depending on price I'd bet) I'm willing to bet that the onboard controller is going to make a big differance, sort of what was/is going on between AMD and Intel systems running DDR, AMD always won the bandwidth race with their onboard controllers.

Here's a quick map from MODOT of only the state highways that are closed due to flooding as of right now.

    Missouri Floods.

We need a break, we went from freezing temps and snow one week to nice warm temps and constant rain, this is really getting to suck a little.

    Missouri Floods.

Well, I don't know if you all have been following the weather news the last couple of days, but we here in Missouri just finished up with 3 days of constant heavy rains with a total of 6" or more (more in other areas) in the area where I live. We have several of the largest rivers in the US...

Gigabyte to develop high-end gaming accessories...

I'm not a huge fan of ambidextrous mice either, but I've gotten used to them over the years because I've had to. Almost bought a new Logitech this evening when I went to Wal-Mart, mainly because my current mouse isn't supported by Vista. I'll look Friday again when I get to the city (if the...

3.95 GHz at 1.368v is pretty darn sweet, with better cooling (water) I could hit 4.5 GHz I think................;)

I'm not completely sure with Vista as I've only run the Beta for a short period of time. I just seem to remember reading that is wasn't listed as a critical update as of yet, that comes later.

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

I've always had better luck unlinking the memory and OC'ing the CPU first and then going back and doing the memory "AFTER" the CPU OC is stable, that's the great thing with Nvidia chipsets.

Windows Vista SP1 Ships Next Week

If I remember correctly there are a couple of prior updates that need to be installed for it to show up on Auto-update. I'll see if I can find the link again. http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/005f921e-f706-401e-abb5-eec42ea0a03e1033.mspx?mfr=true

700MHz Auction Ends at $19.5 Billion

Haven heard that, but I did hear that the TV stations can switch over to full digital early if they are ready or need to for operational reasons.

Gigabyte to develop high-end gaming accessories...

I agree that they'll more than likely sell some great products aimed at the high-end user. My problem is that I'm not much of a typist so those fancy KB don't interest me much. As for mice, they will more than likely be like everyone else and offer only right handed style mice and nothing for us...

700MHz Auction Ends at $19.5 Billion

We'll be waiting till at least Feb next year when they stop TV broadcasts in that range, but something should happen shortly after that I would think.
