    Benchmarking High Scores

Some sites do 1 meg while others do 32 meg, guess it really doesn't matter. You're right about the difference in single/dual cores against Quads, I guess I still like it because I still run a dual core.............;) We can pass on it if you like, it was just a suggestion.........:) I'm easy...

    Thoughts for new benchmark rankings

LightsMark just came out not to long ago, there's a few web sites that use it now in benching the new generation of video cards.

Where In Quad's Name Are They?

I'd be willing to bet that most, if not all the major e-tailer already have some sort of stock or the new chips already on hand and will not put them up for sale until the last minute. I guess I'm always a skeptic when it comes to topics like this, along with the fact that I've seen it happen...

AMD Updates CPU Launch Schedule - Phenom 9850 Due In a Few Weeks

Either AMD has had bad designs or plain bad luck, maybe a combination of the 2. But sooner or later things have to turn around for them, I'm really getting tired of this one sided tater sack race.........;)

NVIDIA 9800GTX and GX2 Get Greenlight

I guess Crysis at 1920x1200 would might take advantage of the GX2 but UT3 at that rez plays great at max setting on a little ole 8800GT. But seeing the way the gaming industry is going with demanding super high-end hardware to play their new games, maybe it would be a good buy to future proof...

Windows Vista SP1 Ships Next Week

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz - Wolfdale Arrives

1.35-1.4 should take it to 400 real easy, at least I would think. With my old 680i board same basic chip set (minus the PCI-e2 bridge) I was running 400 FSB at 1.3 and 450 FSB at 1.35, so the 780 should be around there as well seeing as they are just hand picked chip sets.

    Not bad speeds

I wanted to try that when I was up in Alaska, but I was married with a newborn baby at the time and the now Ex was a total and complete wimp. So that idea got shot down real quick...............

Intel Details Nehalem, Dunnington, Tukwila & Larrabee

I've got a little slush fund (going to have to be a huge one though) set aside just for this upgrade. With any luck I'll be able to upgrade in a sort of timely manner.................

    Not bad speeds

I tried living in the city a back in early 2000, after 2 years I was ready to kill myself, way to many people that try and get into your business and just to loud in general. Country living is the place for me..........;)

700MHz Auction Ends at $19.5 Billion

This is really interesting for folks like myself that live way out in the country. Maybe one day we'll get some sort of real broadband. The FCC is already testing products to be used on the old TV airwaves, the first unit failed (defective part) and is currently testing its replacement. If I...

Gigabyte to develop high-end gaming accessories...

To rich for my blood, never in my life would I pay that much for a silly KB.........;) I just got the one I have now and I was hard pressed to give out $30 for it, I though it was over priced.............;)

    Are SSDs Causing Notebook Defects?

I read that about the notebooks and SSD's and it really sounds like the SSD's are up to all the hype that came out about them. I'm not a notebook user (never owned one) so I really haven't a clue as to performance of standard notebook drives, but if they are getting such a high return rate...

Intel X48 Motherboards to Show Up This Week

Yup, times are a changing, I was one of the big holdouts in switching over to DDR2 from the old DDR (mainly due to running AMD A64 X2's). I only switched over because of the Intel C2D's and now I'm up running DDR3 (low end stuff) early.

    Thoughts for new benchmark rankings

3D Mark 06 SuperPi LightsMark I don't get into the Multi media thing so tweaking a system to get optimum scores in those benchmarks doesn't really interest me at all.

    Benchmarking High Scores

CPU and memory..............;) I like messing with SuperPi myself. It takes a ton of tuning to get your times down.

AMD Updates CPU Launch Schedule - Phenom 9850 Due In a Few Weeks

I truely hope that no one is holding their breath on the release dates. They (AMD) have been having nothing but problems getting stuff out the door lately. And just think, I used to be one of the biggest AMD fans out there, not all that long ago really. My C2D system is my first ever Intel build.

Where In Quad's Name Are They?

I'll have to agree with you............it's all about the bottom line, sell what they currently have in stock first to maximize proffits............:D
