My only concern about OC'ing a quad would be the heat, I've never owned a quad or even messed with one before, but from what I hear about the past Quads, heat can become a issue with Quads pretty quick.
I guess I'll just have to have my son download it for me in advance, those huge downloads kill my monthly bandwidth usage...............:(
My son DL's all my large files (Ubuntu, game patches and the like) and brings them out on the weekends. It's getting to the point that I'm going to have to...
I've got "some" patience, but as soon as I come across a few apps that won't run with it (Vista) that I like using on a regular basis, I'm afraid I'll upgrade back to XP. we'll see how it goes soon enough I guess.

I'd just read around as much as possible then and find out all you can before you order. I've never gamed on a IPS/S-IPS myself, so all I can say is what I've read and heard from friends. But IPS/S-IPS are the top panels made, bar none and with all the new tech that they are coming out with...
When I do get it installed, it will mainly be used for gaming and a bit of OC'ing, Ubuntu will remain the primary OS for surfing the net and everyday tasks, I'm really getting to like it more and more the more I use it...........:)
About the only reason I would need/want one of the 45nm jobs is for OC'ing fun..............;)
I really have no real need for more power/cores as it is. OC'ing is my main enjoyment in life (outside of the wife that is)...........;)
I wouldn't use a IPS/S-IPS for gaming, I've heard from friends that they were unhappy with the gaming performance in FPS with those panel types, but they might just be a bit picky, everyone has their one likes and dislike when it comes to displays, what looks good to one person might not suit...
