    AGP is not dead yet

Nice, nice. Even your minimum is playable although probably very noticeable in Dirt. Stick it to the hardware man and get every last drop of performance out of your gear!

OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB SATA 6Gbit/s SSD Review

Thanks for the fire and brimstone speech, reverend. It reminds me that I haven't backed up mine in a while.

Netflix Separates DVD and Streaming Services in the US; Raises Prices

I know. I keep saying that if we could get a service here like Hulu I'd drop cable all together. That plus Netflix or even a 2nd movie streaming site would still be half as much as we pay for crappy cable.

Netflix Separates DVD and Streaming Services in the US; Raises Prices

This works out great for my wife and I. We have no intention of renting movies so streaming is perfect. Now would be a good time to try the free month to see if my crappy network can handle it.

BF3 Min & Rec Specs released from Gamestop

Well, my i3 at 4.2Ghz can pretty much match an i5 750 in most tests so I'm confident there. I just need to double up on my GPUs but certainly want to go with a Z68 SB system. Maybe jump up to 8GB of memory.

    AGP is not dead yet

What are your frame rates like in specific games at a specific resolution? 3DMark is synthetic so real world numbers would go a long way in letting folks determine if AGP is ready for the scrap heap. Also I'd say that 3DMark06 would be the minimum test that I would run simply because the rest...

OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB SATA 6Gbit/s SSD Review

The Vertex 2 drives are still a viable option if the price of the 3-series is too steep. I'm using a Mushkin drive that is basically the same as the Vertex 2 and it flies like the dickens!

    Road Rash REmake

The Saturn had the same intro as well. I just thought I'd toss that up for a wee bit of nostalgia.

    HALP! P8P67 WS Revolution Problems!

Turns out that the 107*36 overclock was a bit too aggressive. I knew that those chips didn't tend to work well above 105 BCLK but I was able to test three other cooler successfully using the same test methodology so I was very reluctant to find fault in the overclock itself. Dropped the BCLK...

Are You an Over-30 Gamer? Weirdo!

What I'd like to know is how playing video games differs from being a hobby. If you don't play in the competitive gaming leagues, it's a hobby. Something that you do during downtime that you enjoy and do for fun. My mind is squarely on my job (when I'm at work - outside of work don't even...

BF3 Min & Rec Specs released from Gamestop

Woah...my GPU is recommended. That means it's not good enough to really push some serious frame rates. Time to double up! Here's hoping my little dually with hyper threading is up to the task. Grrr! I wonder if I can get my Sandy Bridge upgrade finished by October?

Zalman ZM-HE350 U3 Hard Drive Enclosure Review

I cannot verify if it does or doesn't however Windows 7 has a built in feature that will turn off hard drives after 20 minutes of not being accessed. This is a default that is enabled when the OS is installed but I'm not sure if this applies to external since the enclosure may take over as far...

    Nice PC at Futureshop!

    First Impressions of Google's Facebook-killer, Google+

I don't like Facebook for the simple fact that people use it for attention or pity. Sure, there are people who use it for what it's meant for like staying in touch, making updates on a child or what not but for most it's just a way for them to feel special without actually doing anything. I'll...

    Nice PC at Futureshop!

I think that I've finally drilled it into the head of a co-worker that pre-built PCs are junk. It took about 6 months along with a crappy motherboard and memory kit but I think he finally believes me.

    HALP! P8P67 WS Revolution Problems!

Well, that gave me a bit more to go on...a BSOD. I was rushed for time and had to bail out for work so I didn't copy the code down so I'll need to try and recreate it if I can. I'm no closer to finding out what's going on but at least it was something different.

TG Asks: What Are Some of the Best Music Games for the PC?

Celine Dion Presents: Skinny Ghoulish Woman Idol! Music games are teh fail in my mind and only good when there are some bros (or bras) and brews kicking about.

    Nice PC at Futureshop!

I'm not big on Futureshop's pre-built systems because they tend to use proprietary motherboards, many of which aren't worth the circuit board they are printed on. I've seen too many of them go *POP* to put any trust in them. That is one hell of a deal though. ***EDIT: Sorry. Too much sun...

    HALP! P8P67 WS Revolution Problems!

So our brand spankin' new CPU cooler/hard drive testing system is giving me problems and I think I've banged my head against the wall enough. When running load temperatures using OCCT's LINPACK with all settings at stock, things run flawlessly. When it comes time to overclock, the system...
