    ASUS G2 initial impressions

The top is brushed aluminum, but not real brushed aluminum. It's soft to the touch, so it's either a skin, or brushed aluminum with a glossy covering. It looks great either way.

    Spotlight on Brando

I guess that kind of speaks of Brandos quality on some products. They almost seem to be more for show than function... Sorry to hear it went crazy on you.

    How would you push 8GB?

But how would CAD/CAM need that much ram? I was goofing around with a rather large 3DS model and it came nowhere close. I had to render at a highly unrealistic size to get it to push more than 200MB.

    digg users are crazy

I just think people a life. I guarantee you that only 5% of the people who participated in that war actually cared about the topic at hand. The other 95% are followers... people who just wanted to fit in and act immature at the same time.

    How would you push 8GB?

Hi guys, If your computer had 8GB of ram installed, what would you do to push it? I toyed with this idea last night and got virtually nowhere. The main question is... What realistic scenario would use upwards of 8GB... or more? There must be some scenarios that would work, since some...

    digg users are crazy

It's unbelievable that so many people care this much. I am not saying I disagree, but I have far better things to do than sit around and figure out a creative way to whore out a string of characters. It's going to be interesting to see what Digg is like tomorrow... the Admins can't really...

    ASUS Lamborghini VX2

When we took the VX1 for a test drive in November, we were impressed. ASUS has returned though with an update, appropriately called the VX2. It includes revamped styling, a much more appropriate video card, a fingerprint reader and high-end webcam. If you've been holding out for a revision, you...

    ASUS WL-700gE Wireless Router

What kind of connection are you keeping on the floor below? I am having a bizarre problem with my moms PC still. Though I am using WPA-PSK, sometimes her PC will just randomly change it to WPA2-PSK, so I have to come out and change it back. Very annoying... I wish I knew why it was happening...

    Ultra ChillTEC CPU Cooler

With the summer heat right around the corner, you need to figure out a good way to keep your CPU cool. Has Ultra come to the rescue with their ChillTEC cooler? As the name suggests, it uses a Thermo-electric Chip to help moderate the temperature of your CPU. The big question is though: Is this...

    My First Gamer Computer

That does look kind of like an aquarium, thanks to the shade of blue. Looks great regardless. To be honest though, I don't believe the motherboard to be the problem, but rather the video card. That's a low-end offering, so I wouldn't expect it to play a huge game like Vegas that reliably. It...

    Logitech Revised G5

    1) Don't think it's vinyl, but it's not plastic either. Just a soft fabric... it does seem it would be more durable over time. It looks far better regardless. 2) No, like the original G5, it's a rougher surface, not glossy at all. I hear your concerns.. it's one of the few things I don't like...

    Logitech Revised G5

Logitech has quietly updated their popular G5 mouse, with the most significant upgrade being the extra thumb button. Although it's hard to warrant an upgrade for a current G5 owner, it's worth a look for anyone else in the market for a new gamers mouse. You can read the full review here and...

    ASUS G2 initial impressions

Greg and I took a look at the G2 at CES and both were intrigued. ASUS actually has a G1 as well, but it's NVIDIA based, while the G2 is.. you guessed it, ATI based. For some reason though, the G1 has a smaller (15") screen compared to the G2s 17" monster. It's odd, because if you -really- love...

Buffalo Firestix PC2-8000 on EVGA 680i

You that board? No I agree, I love the board as well. I do find it occasionally quirky though. I am overclocking a 4GB kit now, and it's going nowhere. It's stock 5-5-5 2.1v, so I tried 4-4-4 2.4v and the computer would beep right after reboot. The readout on the board would show a C1 error...

Buffalo Firestix PC2-8000 on EVGA 680i

I do firmly believe Crucial doesn't cherry pick... the main reason is that they are just not as concerned as overclocking as other companies. I know this because I received their Ballistix 6400 kit for review last year, and it clocked way -worse- than retail modules that others had. So... I'm...

Buffalo Firestix PC2-8000 on EVGA 680i

Color me wrong then. I should really do more of this testing before I speak my mind. "But I agree, I also believe that Crucial does not provide handpicked samples. After all, you get a reciept just like you had purchased memory from the Crucial store." That's a good point, I didn't consider...

    ASUS WL-700gE Wireless Router

I couldn't get that feature to work, but I'm not sure if it's because I am using a crappy webcam. I had problems with it before (Notebooks Pro), so I wouldn't blame the router before the webcam. I can't really comment though.

    OCZ Tempest CPU Cooler

I don't believe that the pipes were actually touching each other, it just appeared that way thanks to the angle. I don't recall them touching each other at all. As for the Tempest, I am not sure it's still on sale, although I haven't checked. I know it's been discontinued for a few months now.
