    OCZ Vertex 3 120GB - $70 ($85 before MIR)

Only if you have a SATA III controller. I don't, I'm riding SATA II but still, it would max the controller out.

Wish I had it to invest in a pair. I could just imagine how fast a raid-0 array of those would be.

Is a 2880x1800 Resolution Worth Getting Excited Over?

It has nothing to do with macs and centers on the question about 2880X1400 being something to be excited about. My stance is that it's not on small displays but on larger displays, yes. It will eat up Vram though in games. That led to discussions about the desktop remaining resident in Vram...

Is a 2880x1800 Resolution Worth Getting Excited Over?

Aero is a hardware accelerated so it's possible that it steals cycles away from the GPU in windowed mode. I guess a proper test of that being the case would be to run in windowed mode with and without Aero enabled and see if there's any difference.

Is a 2880x1800 Resolution Worth Getting Excited Over?

I don't. I just don't keep icons on my desktop. Besides, a clean desktop looks far better IMO.

Good deal, I wasn't sure if they were still ASUS' red headed step-child or not. Good to know they're not.

Odd that they don't allow you to choose whether it's stereo or mono.

Is a 2880x1800 Resolution Worth Getting Excited Over?

Next time you play Max Payne 3 go into the settings and start monkeying around with resolution and IQ settings. They give you a metric of the amount of Vram needed for the game to run at your selection. It's alarming how much memory you really need to keep from dipping into much slower system ram.

That's why I say the patent system is in need of an overhaul. They issue patents on the how of things in such a broad reaching and obscure manner that it's nearly impossible to not technically infringe upon it. It's anti-competitive.

    ASUS smears GIGABYTE?

I'm still running ASUS boards, had one mysteriously die on me out of 7 or 8 I've owned since 2003. That's pretty hard to beat.

When you run all the eye candy turned up to 11 and the highest resolution you can manage and still want 100+FPS I can see their point.
