    My first experiment.

Well, I have a bunch of spray paint lying around. I could also use some of the Spies Hecker paint and clear coat from work. I just recently recieved a crappy old school computer case from a friend, and decided to do something with it. Gonna see what I can brainstorm up before classes start.

Should you wait for Quad Core?

I'm JUST getting into dual core. Since the Conroe came out, AMD's Opteron line has also dropped in price.

    Windex sucks.

Has anyone noticed that Windex causes more smears than remove? Or am I just not using it properly?

Lee Cho's iMac G5 for sale.

Well, I thought about this long and hard but I finally decided to sell my iMac G5 for various reasons. It runs like a champ, however the fans are kinda loud. Maybe it's because it is sitting in an apartment room with an ineffective A/C and my room temps are easily 85f constantly. I'm running out...

    You guys were right.

Well, i have to set the CPU VID control to like 1.35 and the CPU VID special control to 133% or some nonsense. If I'm doing this right, according the DFI-Street, 1.35x1.33= 1.7955 or some sort.

    You guys were right.

Ok, I can't keep the system stable @ 3gigs unless I up the voltage to 1.8, but with that voltage with my air cooler, it runs at 52c idle. I want to keep my load temps below 52c. I'm happy with 2.8. Once I get the water coolin set up, hopefully I can run it at 3 gigs. Thanks for the help...

    You guys were right.

I have my swiftech water cooling kit sitting in my room now, but I'm too scared to assemble it right now. Well ok, I'm more lazy than scared.

    You guys were right.

Well you guys were right. I recall somebody saying that they were gonna make a hardcore overclocker out of me. Well just the other day I reached 2.8 gigs completely stable after a 10hour prime95 torture test. Now I am testing the stability @ 3gigs with my AMD Athlon64 3700+...

Booyah! I'm glad I waited on the processor. This is what I'm talking about. Although, I have no idea what I'm talkin about.

    Chipset temps way too high.

Im thinking of getting a Vantec Iceberg cooler for my chipset. I dont feel like taking out my mobo just to put some good goop on their unless I was also putting in a better fan/heatsink. I would get an Evercool VC-RE but can't find those anywhere. I saw my temps raise up to 65C according to...

Having to clear Cmos after restart.

I think I just figured out how to make windows boot up faster. I changed the boot priority in the bios from 1st cd rom 2nd harddrive to 1st harddrive 2nd cd rom. Windows boots in like 7 seconds now. Might want to try that out Rob. Maybe it was just a fluke though. But oh well.

Having to clear Cmos after restart.

Yeah I'm still on IDE. But so far, I ran prime95 for 12 hours at 2.6gigs completely stable. I'm just worried about my chipset temps, it rises up to 60c.

    Chipset temps way too high.

My DFI-Ultra D board's chipset runs at about 58C at load, 50C idle. I guess it's to be expected since part of the x1900xtx extends over it. Do you think getting better case fans could help, help with the air flow? Or maybe a better chipset fan/cooler?

Having to clear Cmos after restart.

Installed windows without a hitch. One thing though, I noticed it takes a while for windows to load at boot up. A lot longer than it took on my Asus board. It would take my Asus board about 10 seconds to load windows, but now it takes me about 30-40 seconds. Any ideas?
