    ASUS GeForce 210, GT 220 & GT 240

Between just those two cards, yes. Might also look at the HD 5570 if it's in a similar price range there.

    Hard Drive eSata

Windows XP does not fully support AHCI, which is required for hot-plugging to be supported. As ya found out, the drive has to be treated like any internal drive which means it must be ready when the system boots to be recognized and initialized by the system. Also the SATA ports must be...

    Promising CPU Benchmark: Geekbench 2

Those old Pentium 4's sure do show their age these days... system's worth somewhere around $100 today. :p

    Promising CPU Benchmark: Geekbench 2

Hmm, score of 10,703 for the configuration in my sig. I agree, I'm not sure how reliable the testing is given it only takes a few seconds per each test, but I've seen worse too.

Revisit Super Mario Bros. with Other Nintendo Characters

Hey Rob, that review might be a little delayed now.... :D

Very cool to see something like this developed with household components... :)

When does Random / Sequential Reading and Writing come into Play?

The RealSSD performs very well with random writes... if you use any OS other than XP. It is second only to Sandforce drives. It also offers the highest random reads so far. Link The problem is... the drive suffers from a risk of unrecoverable performance degradation just like Intel's X25-M G1...

    Problemo!

I'd recommend the 5830 over the GTS250 if at all possible, there's a good performance gap there and the GTS 250 is just a rebadged 9800GTX+. How much more is the 5850 in comparison to the 5830? As far as the GTX 460 is concerned, I don't know what the price or performance will be.

Apple Sells 1 Million iPads in Under a Month

So much for being called a niche product. Or the rumor of a US recession. These reached the 1 million mark even quicker than the iPhone did, which is appalling for a $600-830 device.

Too TRIM? When SSD Data Recovery is Impossible

There aren't any "flaws" in TRIM that cause deterioration of speed or increased latency... whenever that happens it's the flaws in the underlying controller itself being exposed.

    XFX Pushes the Marketing Envelope

I wonder, if the user has tow warranty that card will he get another one? And I thought the Core i7 980X was expensive... this is just a whole new level.

    MS' Silverlight Software

It doesn't really matter unless you need it for one site you wish to use. I know a couple people that feel the exact same way about Flash and can't wait for HTML5 to get here. Sort of amusing to me that HTML5 has it's own problem, there seems to be another typical industry split amongst which...

    Gigabyte X58A-UD3R + i7-920 overclocking adventure

Damn Radaja, that is a hell of a CPU to run that high with that low a voltage... even with your ad-hoc air ducting system to keep it cool. :D I wish I could find a Core i7 930 that would even match that, I'd be in overclocking nirvana for another year... I assume you're going to keep that CPU...

Steve Jobs Writes Open Letter Regarding Flash

My problem is he acts like they didn't restrict flash at all... but it wasn't until they released the open hooks in their last dev kit release a week ago that Adobe was able to offer hardware accelerated flash for OS X.

The Vicious Cycle of Gaming DRM

Heh, I'm up to my 4th call to Microsoft's automated phone system to reactivate Windows 7 64bit. Only one time was it a legitimate reason (switching out the motherboard), all the others were reinstalls on the same system or reboots where it suddenly acted as if the hardware changed.

AMD Announces Phenom X6 CPUs and 890FX Chipset

True, however Intel's Core i7 860 performs comparably to the 1090T in many tests and costs the same. One site by my count had it 7 to 5, not counting the games which Intel all won. And unfortunately most users still run 1-2 threaded programs, not 6-threaded applications that can fully use a...

    Gigabyte X58A-UD3R + i7-920 overclocking adventure

You certainly have one hell of a sweet Core i7 920 there, I wish mine would perform that high with those voltages! Don't forget to use LinX when you find settings you want to confirm as stable... I can run Prime95 at 4.5GHz, but LinX causes a spike in temps that makes the overclock then fail...

    Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler

A "mistake", no. Any possible differences would be 1-5c worst case. I think the NT-H1 is better, but I've not actually looked around to check. I can't speak for Bill though, as it is his review he likely has his own thoughts on the thermal compound or conducted his own testing with it. But in...

Phenom II X6 1090T - AMD Enters the Six-Core Arena

Tried overclocking the thing yet? ;) I got a question for ya... why do all the sites call it a Phenom II X6 1090T, but CPUZ always says it is a Phenom II X6 1095T? CPUZ finally get one wrong?
