If you have a wired Xbox 360 controller, that's all you need. It doesn't need to be a specific model.

I cant get the right analog stick to work when i play GTA San Andreas on my pc....i tried using two different brands of the 360 wired controller but i keep getting the same results..does this happen to anyone else?

xbox WIRELESS controller
i own an xbox 360 WIRELESS controller and am using it for windows VISTA. after i installed the software needed i could NOT use the controller for vista.
apparently i need to be running windows XP sp1 or 2

I believe that the Xbox 360 controller is supposed to work with Vista out-of-the-box, but I'm not too sure about the wireless version. Regardless, Microsoft offers drivers for that as well, on their website:
