Indeed.

Those are some pretty beefy specs regardless of the names. If I'm lucky everything will be ready by the release date.

Here is some more news on the specs, get ready to beef up those rigs to run it MAXED

DICE community manager Daniel Matros has been answering questions about Battlefield 3 on Twitter. Battlefield fan @bkohn1 asked him whether a rig matching the Battlefield 3 recommended system requirements would run the game on ultra settings. Matros replied to say that “recommended is usually medium.”

So will a top of the range Nvidia GTX580 do the trick? Apparently not. Matros revealed that we’ll need two 580s in SLI to make the most of the Frostbite 2 engine. The minimum system specifications may not be too punishing, but for those who want to see Battlefield 3 at its very best, a hefty upgrade may needed. Battlefield 3 may well be worth the expense. Would you be tempted to upgrade?

My rig, it will run BF3.

Did the question on twitter included information on the resolution? Because that's pretty much the determining factor concerning the settings. That is, is this concerning 19xx resolutions and higher? Or it also affects lower resolutions, like mine 1440x900?

Let's see on the 24th.

Right now wasn't that much impressed. the images in the video just flew by (I wish they stopped this type of advertisement) and didn't give much an idea if this is Yet-Another-Failed-Promise-At-A-Gaming-Simulator, or something that is finally working as advertised. It's not because the guy is shouting like a girl, that I'll bite.

I'm more impressed by the application as a whole than the actual setup. That would certainly give me more incentive to run for cover instead of going all Schwarzenegger with guns blazing.
