Hmm, someone does have an infatuation with dragons! It's fine though, because dragon's kick-ass.

Kougar: I agree on the wallpaper there... incredible color. It's pictures like that, that make me give up on photography ;-)

Altrus: You are playing Aion?! I'm so psyched for that one... how is it?

So far I'd say its pretty good, I haven't played it to much since the closed beta events have only been lvls 1-10 so far.

The graphics are amazing everywhere, very beautiful.
((Strangely the first game I've ever enjoyed being a Mage class))
I think the stories pretty interesting also, the battle systems fun, point and click gameplay or WASD((I prefer P&C)), the art style is gorgeous,......and wings:D

I'm going to play the other beta events and most likely the game when it comes out.

Well, it's been exactly a year since I last posted a picture of my desktop, so I think I'm just about due for a follow-up! Since I ran into a rather major issue a few weeks ago, I was forced to reinstall both of my operating systems (Linux and Windows), and rather than mope about it, I decided to install the latest versions of both my preferred Linux desktop environment and the latest version of Windows.

Here's my Linux desktop, using the KDE 4.3 desktop environment and the latest major version of the Linux kernel:

And here's my Windows 7 desktop:

I admit I had thought I'd score a higher Windows Experience Index rating, but the bottleneck is the hard drive. If it wasn't for that, then I'd score about 7.2 since that's what the other tests scored.

The desktop wallpaper on my Linux desktop can be had here, and the one for Windows can be had here.

Interesting purple... 5.9 is the max score you can get if you don't have an SSD, which I remember ya telling me you don't use in your personal system. ;)

Yes this is true, and I don't see it changing for a while. If I used Windows as the primary OS, then sure, but I don't. I still need to look into TRIM support for Linux (and how it works), but I'm considering to move over to an SSD there sometime in the near future. When I reinstalled my OS' a few weeks ago, I deliberately made my entire Linux partition 80GB, as that's the smallest SSD I'd find myself with. I can't wait though... it should be great for multi-tasking.

Whoa, do you REALLY run 1024x768 as your resolution?!

I don't know how it happened. I used to chill at 1400x900, but the gf and then had mom visit a couple of weeks ago...one thing led to another...Oh Gawd!

Don't look at me! DON"T LOOK AT MEE!!

Oh, man! You need to be fussier about things like this, haha. 1024x768 is an extinct resolution, but in all fairness, it's still fine for the hard of seeing ;-)

All you had were Kingston and Intel's, right? Only the new Gen 2 models even support Trim anyway... and only after you flash them from what I hear, because the current version (and only firmware available) doesn't support it ye, supposedly.

I agree, I don't mess with anyone's computer resolution! Only my father uses that, and that's because he has trouble reading the icons/text... ;)

Yeah, initially changed it for my mom so she could see the screen better.

And my gf runs the same resolution on her 12.1" HP tx2000z, so she changes mine whenever she uses it. Of course she usually only gets on my computer to check for porn...

Good news is that I'm upto 1280x800 and slowly making my way back to 1400x900. :)

I used to think that using higher resolution slowed down my computer. But my 8700M GT should be able to handle things comfortably.

Oh, and since there are a few linux lovers here, here's one for you:

As I was exploring all of what was new with KDE 4.4, I couldn't help but poke around the theme options, and I ended up feeling inspired and changed things up a bit. I downloaded an icon pack that was unlike anything I've seen before, very artistic, so I applied it. I also changed from a silvery theme to a light brown color, which is a nice change.

Come on peeps, stop letting this thread die!
