Show off your desktop!

Hi, I'm new to the forum.
I've been monitoring this thread and was wondering what program is best for themes in Windows XP? I tried LiteStep and didn't really like it, then I tried uxthemes and that was a bit weird because it seemed to stuff up certain things on my comp.
What do all you guys use?

I'll post a pic of my desktop tomorrow aswell probably.

:D

Welcome James (or should I say, Mister Crysis!). I've tried a few too and I'm rarely satisfied with the functionality or layout. What I always come back to at the end of the day are simple third-party msstyles, via the multi-patcher. After applying, just find your theme files (DeviantArt's vs section is a good place to start) and let XP's capabilities do their thing.

Hmm, well, it's been about seven months, so how about we update this thread? I changed up a few icons, but not much has changed around here. I'm kind of boring.

Currently still using the default wallpaper that comes with Hyperdesk. But that'll change shortly. I'll add (based on way earlier thread dialogue), you won't see any IE icon. Use Iron in incognito mode to surf for porn. (Iron is a slightly modified version of the Chromium source of Google Chrome that removes components of Chrome that report your usage habits to Google.)

How are you liking the Hyperdesk suite? I'm not that impressed that the themes only work with Windows Vista, but at least it can help spice up XP. I'm not that tempted to "deck out" my Windows, but I might give it a try at some point. I know WindowsBlind's used to be the best for that... maybe they still are.

Come on, peeps! Let's see some updated desktops!

Aside from the wallpaper, mine hasn't changed at ALL, so I refuse to show it right now.

Hm, I take it you like dragons. ;) I'm pretty sure I've even seen that black dragon image someplace before, it's a nice one.

Naaa... I like it! Nice picture.

Thanks! I'm in awe of not just the setting and the place, but how the photographer managed to pull it off. So much detail yet preserved so much shadow, and the colors are still vivid and vibrant. It's Moraine Lake up in Alberta, Canada, photographer mentioned the rock in the image is mostly underwater from melting runoff now.

Yeah I do like dragon themes, got over 200 of wallpapers with dragons... I don't even know what got me started on it... But now every computer I build ends up with a dragon on it's desktop.

The black one came from a PD wallpaper site a couple of years back. Ole "smokey" has been with me since the mid-90s.

Here are a few more of my favorites... without the icons.
