Initial Reviews Put Duke Nukem Forever as a 'Mediocre' Game

Ars published today an article that does explore more in-depth the game humor. I honestly don't recall the last time I saw a Ben Kuchera's article that I fully agreed with. But this is one. Above all, Doomsday, I take issue with this notion that, if I don't find it funny I have no sense of...

Wii U Reported to Have 50% More Processing Power than PS3

It's quite possible that consoles will eventually match PCs processing performance levels. I seem to think that it's only their long product cycles that don't allow this to be more visible. But a console today is a home user (non gaming) PC 10 years ago. And I'm not so sure as to if this gap is...

Logitech Performance Mouse MX - Part 2

In this second and last part of this very personal review of the Performance Mouse MX, I'll be discussing two other features of this mouse, as well as wrap up with a few additional thoughts. Thumb area and buttons Logitech has been clearly experimenting with the thumb rest design for some...

Logitech Performance Mouse MX - Part 1

Nah. I wouldn't stand the insensate clack-clack of mechanical keyboards, neither I have the right to impose that noise on everyone else around me. Those are great gaming keyboards these days, but no longer professional keyboards. Those days of high noise offices have come and gone a long time...

Logitech Performance Mouse MX - Part 1

The Performance Mouse MX is Logitech's current top offer. As I get ready to loose my mind on a Topre Realforce 103U keyboard somewhere around mid July, I went ahead and started to refurbish my desk already. This mouse comes to replace the Revolution MX, which you can only get these days in a...

Sony Vita vs. Nintendo Wii U: Which is More Impressive?

Not really excited about either. But can bet on my daughters soon begging me to replace their PSP for the Vita. Also, agree the Wii U and the Vita aren't comparable in the least. One's even a controller while the other is a console. That said, sure one can be more excited about one over the...

    Cyborg R.A.T. 9

Does the 9 wiggle on its side like the 7, or is it more stable giving you that godly feeling of a firmly planted mouse surface?

Apple's iCloud Gives Users Free 5GB of Cloud Space for Syncing

You and I. And my first reaction (after checking the calender this isn't 1st of April) was rejecting the idea RIAA was involved in this process... There must be some provisions in the law that allow for users with genuine content to use the cloud as a storage media. Is there? I mean, not only I...

    The dream keyboard

Yeah. That price isn't something I'd want to hear. Won't be an easy picking and there's some explaining I need to do to my wife before I go for it. But this is exactly what I've been waiting for many years; an improvement in the rubber-dome solution that can make keyboards more durable and with...

Microsoft Shows Off Windows 8 at D9 Conference

Frankly I don't see much use for touch screens in desktop computers, except for kiosk like interfaces. For a daily usage routine it's not even practical or comfortable because of the way a screen is positioned on our desks. Works on movies, but not in real-life usage and I guess laptops face the...

    The dream keyboard

I'm currently on the market looking for a good keyboard (again!). I don't know about you folks; but to me, keyboards are the most replaced computer element since rubber-dome keyboards became a norm. This has actually made me go red eyed on a few occasions, since the only efforts I witness into...

A Quick Look at GIGABYTE's TouchBIOS

Excellent material you have there rob! Thanks. Ever considered turning it into an article? Here's some thoughts of my own, as if a dialog it was: >> Since it [UEFI] is new some of the initial UIs that have been slapped on top of the AMI BIOS from some MB companies has been anything but nice...

A Quick Look at GIGABYTE's TouchBIOS

hmm... yeah. Definitely they need to rethink. I'd support the idea of a friendly tool for less tech-able users. Otherwise this just seems like a distraction from what people are really asking of gigabyte. Weird though why so resistant in adopting UEFI.

A Quick Look at GIGABYTE's TouchBIOS

Requiring the system to be restarted (which is a sensible requirement) kinda defeats the purpose, no? Having to bring the full OS to make changes to the BIOS that then require a restart... not gonna do it. Although, I suppose there can always be an argument for unknowledgeable users who may...

OCZ Shows Off Z-Drive R4 SSD at Computex; Reaches 1.5 Million IOPS

Heck, if they keep at it, one day it will be processor and computer bus. Guess storage got so fed up of being always behind that decided to take a run for it. Only... got so excited, that one day when it looks back it will wonder where's everyone gone...

OCZ Shows Off Z-Drive R4 SSD at Computex; Reaches 1.5 Million IOPS

Will probably join the TMS RamSan-630 in the enterprise market -- which last year reached the 1 million IOPS -- and will no doubt put some pressure on it. The trend is great, the obvious competition ever greater. But with the apparent "ease" and speed at which new barriers are broken, I'm...
