    Samsung 275T 27-inch Wide-Screen

Looking for a 27" LCD? Your choices are essentially between two models, Dell's 2707WFP and Samsung's 275T. We took a look at the Dell a few weeks ago, but are now putting the 275T to the test to see how it held up in comparison. You can read the review here and discuss it here.

    Gentoo 2007.0

The sad thing is that Gentoo is not really a bad distro, it's just the installer that leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths. It's better than two years ago when there was no such thing as a Gentoo GUI installer, but the current one is seriously lacking. I found the best Gentoo installer to be...

    iPhone thoughts

I remember my first cell phone in 2000... it was fantastic. It was bulkier than what we see now, but it sounded perfect. My latest phone, which is probably close to two and a half years old, is absolute crap. It's really insane how many times I say, "Sorry, what?" during a conversation because I...

    No more Office 2003

I'm with you. I use Office 2007 exclusively mainly because of the graphs for the reviews which look good, but I enjoyed the 'simpler' look of Office 2003. For those who still enjoy the older versions, they are not SOL since they can still purchase it on their own, until Microsoft wants to cut...

    iPhone thoughts

I wondered the same thing with they released their first <strike>giant ass plug</strike> iMac, so I agree. I believe the 'i' before all their products is ridiculous, but hey, that's marketing. As you say, people will buy it regardless. It's an Apple product, which is as good as God putting his...

    Top Five Amarok Tips

Hi Carlos, Mounting the Samba share is no problem at all, it's not just something I delved into since I format my Windows PC every other week. Regardless of whether you mount a Samba share as a local drive or connect via my method, you are still essentially streaming the exact same way. If you...

    Top Five Amarok Tips

It's streaming the music from the remote storage. This is kind of a client/server setup, the Windows machine was the server, Amarok was the client. If you are playing music off another machine without copying over the entire file first, it's streaming.

    Top Five Amarok Tips

I am not sure of an exact alternative for Windows, but you might want to look at the official MusicBrainz product list. They have applications for Windows, but I have never tested any of them. Sounds like a problem with configuration. I've never not had an Amarok work in any distro I've used...

    Corsair 2GB TWINX2048-4400PRO

275 is a great overclock, I'd be happy with it. I've been running the 3500LLPRO kit at 270 for well over a year now, rock stable. Corsair pushed out some amazing DDR1 right before DDR2 hogged the limelight.

    Blu-ray or HD-DVD?

As posted in our news today, Blockbuster decided to go with Blu-ray in all of their retail outlets, excluding HD-DVD entirely except on their web service. Does this change your stance on who the next-gen format winner will be? I own a couple Blu-ray titles, and I admit it's only because of the...

    iPhone thoughts

You make a point here. One issue I have with a lot of phones recently is that the actual call quality is getting worse. Cell phones from even 8 years ago sounded so much better than todays phones. Phones are getting more sophisticated, while call quality lacks. This is not just the iPhone of...

    eVGA e-GeForce 7900GS KO

If you are not looking for the highest-end GPU on the market but still want one with great performance at an even better price, the 7900 GS might be right up your alley. It fell slightly behind a 7900 GT, but has the overclocking headroom to make up for it. You can read the full review here and...

    anyone has 20" LG?

It sucks that things are so expensive over there. I'd just find one with a digital input so you will have good picture quality and one that will fit your budget.
