Thermaltake BlacX Hard Drive Docking Station

Happen to have a few 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drives lying about that you've been avoiding because you don't feel like installing them in your rig? Want a quick and easy way to hot-swap between multiple drives for a very reasonable price and have a unit that actually looks cool? The BlacX is for...

A Japanese RPG Primer: The Essential 20

The Japanese role-playing game is a surprisingly important genre for developers to study - both in terms of gameplay and storytelling, and Gamasutra presents an 'Essential 20' explaining and chronicling the top JRPGs of all-time...

    Palit GeForce 8800GT Super+1GB

It will work fine... it would have to be a special board in order to not accept the 8800 GT (like an mATX board that deliberately didn't include one). Nowadays, it's more an issue of whether or not your case can fit the GPU, not the motherboard. If you have any reasonably-sized case, though...

    Stock Temps Q9450

Those are some ridiculous differences. Do you see the -same- kind of results if you don't run both of them at the same time? I'd run them again one at a time, with reboots in between. I know in the S939 days, running more than one temperature-reading application at the same time could skew the...

    Just ordered the 2408WFP...

Glad to hear it. I'm equally pleased I don't have a monitor that makes my desk bow ;-)

Memory problem with new IP35 board

Glad to hear the problem is fixed! I kind of remember someone in the thread saying, "The first thing to check is make sure EVERYTHING is plugged in properly on the motherboard, and I mean everything."... Can't remember who, though! I am not too sure I'd worry about only using 2GB of RAM with...

    RAM for Asus Maximus Formula?

Go into the BIOS and manually set those settings. Just make sure you set the correct ones. CAS or CL = 4 tRP = 4 tRCD = 4 tRAS = 12 For 4-4-4 though, you will probably need to drop the frequency to 400MHz (DDR2-800)... I can't see DDR2-1066 being stable with those voltages. The voltages that...

Are TechGage web pages loading slowly?

x86 processors are not called x32 because, unlike x64, x86 refers to the x86 instruction set, not the number of bits. The 8088, for example, was a 16-bit processor, but was still considered an x86 chip. EM64T = Intel 64 = AMD64 = x64 We use "x64" because it sums up most 64-bit processors from...

    SteelSeries 3H and 4H Headsets

Yeah exactly. I've only been using the 4H's for the PSP (since it's kind of a pain to unhook the good headphones from the PC). I'm somewhat in the market for one or two pairs of headsets, but I'm not even sure what's good anymore, or what will last more than a few weeks. This latest 4H pair was...

    22" 3D Monitor?

I saw Zalman's version at CES last year, and then iZ3D's version at DigitalLife this past fall... and neither did a thing for me. I never quite understood it... I couldn't tell that things were 3D. Rather, things were just not as sharp... I don't see the point of these at all. Not to mention...

    SteelSeries 3H and 4H Headsets

I just have to jump in here, and note that I've had horrible experiences with the 4H. I've owned two, and both have been thrown in the trash for the exact same reason. After a while, the sound will cut in and out, and I believe it to be due to poor wiring, because if you hold it a certain way...

    Portable gaming anyone?

Ahh, NFS: Most Wanted... one of the last great NFS games before EA completely bastardized the series with the help of Pro Street (I -hate- that game). I have both a DS and PSP and always go to the PSP first... mainly because the dual screens on the DS does nothing for me, although a few games...

    Video Driver recovered

It happens more than once? It's hard to tell from the way you describe it.

    Just ordered the 2408WFP...

Specs-wise, the 2408WFP kicks that LG's ass. It has a far better contrast ratio and lower response time. Yeah, so it's better. I said so.

Memory problem with new IP35 board

I still can't believe that a lowly Dual-Core like the E6300 idles at around 40C. I think the QX9650 I have here idles around 35C at most... what a large difference the die-shrink can make.

Are TechGage web pages loading slowly?

I was having problems with Firefox for the past few days, so I was unsure if my results were accurate, but I re-installed it today and things are loading very fast, so I am thinking it might just be your connection BoySCouT.

    Palit 9600 GT - $109.99 after MIR

It's back in stock, and for $10 more than what it was last week, after mail-in rebate. Still a great price, but the price seems to fluctuate each day. It was $130 last night, and now it's $120. No telling if it will go back down to $110, but even $120 is still a great deal compared to the rest...

    Buy.com

Well, it's starting to sound like Buy.com really is a difficult company to deal with. Doesn't seem too bad if the purchase goes right, but people have to assume that problems can arise.

    Upgrade ideas....

By that logic, no one needs a Dual-Core either. I use applications all the time that take advantage of all four Cores, and I'm no professional.

    BSOD!!!

Good to know that the problem is solved (hopefully). Three weeks without a main rig is rough.
