    Dog Gone

I've talked to someone before who owned one of the original ones and she loved it. She said once it died, she actually cried... so it goes to show how emotional you can really get with a "toy". You are right though... much cheaper than a real canine, haha.

    Initial Q9450 overclocking...

Nice clocks! I didn't realize G0 was that good. The Q6600 I have here can barely hit 3.0GHz stable. Are all those clocks stable? I only report 100% stable clocks. At 3.52GHz 1.4v at the moment... Have a good feeling I'm going to have to crank the voltage to get anywhere from this point forward.

    Initial Q9450 overclocking...

I bumped the CPU voltage from 1.3000v to 1.3250v and it made a 168MHz difference. This is one chip that thrives on voltage apparently... such a small increase in juice but a significant increase in frequency, very nice to see. I'm far from done of course... it's going to be an interesting evening.

Microsoft Releases Windows XP RTM, No True Reason for Excitement

From our front-page news: With Vista SP1 having been out for just over a month, isn't it about time that Windows XP gets the love it deserves? If you say yes, then don't worry, it will happen next Tuesday, according to a TechNet forum post. At that time, it will become available as a direct...

Western Digital Unleashes the Fierce VelociRaptor VR150

From our front-page news:It's been quite some time since Western Digital has issued a follow-up to their Raptor line-up, but that happens now, with the help of their "VelociRaptor" VR150 drive. What's this mean to you? More space, faster speeds, quieter operation and oddly enough, lower power...

Could GTA IV Downloadable Content Include Full Cities?

Haha. I admit, I cannot WAIT for this game. I didn't touch San Andreas too much (though I do own it), but played Vice City to death. It could be the hype that's getting me riled up for IV, but after reading a few developer interviews, the game was no doubt created by the right people. Not to...

    RV770 is ATI 4800?

Hmm, so that's where Theo went. Those stats do look amazing, though, and if that's what we'll see on the production card, then NVIDIA better hope to have something astonishing up their sleeves. For AMD... that card cannot come soon enough, and now I am a bit excited for it ;-) I doubt we'll...

Psystar Begins Shipping Apple "Open Computer"

I agree with a lot of what you say, but where Apple computers themselves are concerned, I do believe that sales of those would be affected a wee bit if Apple were to license OS X. Apple computers are overpriced, if anyone wants to fight me on that, then put on the gloves. Psystar is starting...

    Spring Cleaning

Haha, I am somewhat of a pack rat as well, but I smartened up a bit over the past year. There are some things I simply will not throw away that are rather needless (such as game console boxes), but for the most part, if I don't need it and it's of no use to anyone, it goes in the trash.

Intel Drops Prices on Select 65nm Processors

From our front-page news:Intel today has announced price-drops on many models from their 65nm line-up, including the Q6600 and E6850. The Q6700 sees the biggest drop, from $530 to $266, while the Q6600 sits comfortably at $224. For some Dual-Core action, the fast E6850 has dropped 31% in price...

    Initial Q9450 overclocking...

This CPU is part of the contest PC that Alex won, but he's cool enough to let me overclock the heck out of it and benchmark it for the sake of an article. So far, I'm impressed. I only began the overclocking last night, but with absolute stock voltages (1.3000v CPU, 1.9v memory), we could reach...

PayPal to Fight Phishers by Blocking Outdated Browsers

From our front-page news: I doubt it will take many people by surprise to learn that PayPal and eBay are two of most popular sites vulnerable to phishing attacks, and even though it might not be evident, both have been taking that fact seriously. Recently, PayPal has put forth a plan to ban...

Could GTA IV Downloadable Content Include Full Cities?

From our front-page news: It was discovered the other day that most, if not all of the initial Grand Theft Auto IV reviews are overwhelmingly positive, but if that wasn't enough to get you excited, then maybe the latest rumor to hit the wire will do the trick. According to Computer and Video...

Psystar Begins Shipping Apple "Open Computer"

From our front-page news: When a company boasts products that emulate Apple's own offerings but for a fraction of the price, people tend to listen. Such was the case with Psystar over the course of the past two weeks. The company seemed to come out of nowhere, and then offered a product no one...

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - The New Budget Superstar?

At 2.53GHz and $133 USD, the E7200 promises to become the new Dual-Core budget superstar. After taking a hard look at the upcoming offering, we would have to readily agree. Overclocking only sweetens the deal further, with 3.0GHz on stock voltages being more than possible. We have a winner...

    Mugshot Page

I meant if he ever wanted to get laid after posting that picture. Call it... a turbopun, if you will. I'm with you, it'd be great to have more women around here!

    Mugshot Page

Thankfully, we don't have a large female population around here ;) Great photos peeps. I'll dig around and find one of me eventually.

    Razer in the Olympics

Given that I was 5-years-old at the time... no. But good point.

    Balanced settings

That's a weak overclock for that processor though, and in all honesty, you'd see a far larger performance increase with a CPU boost than a memory boost. My best overclock was with 425MHz FSB (x 9), which put the CPU at just over 3.8GHz. I am unsure of the memory speed at the time, but I...

Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers compatible with Xbox Elite???

This is a good question, and one I wish I had an answer to. I have personally wanted to do this with headphones for late-night gaming, and I'm sure the process is all the same. Although, the X-540 does include more than a single cable to utilize, so I'm not sure the exact steps. I'll ping Rory...
