    Hypersonic Avenger AG2 12" Notebook

Hypersonic's known for building performance PCs, so where did this sub-notebook come from? Don't worry, it packs a punch, with its 2.5GHz Intel CPU, 4GB of RAM and 200GB 7200RPM hard drive. After taking pricing and feature set into consideration, we have good reason to be impressed. You can...

EA, BioWare Backtrack on Asinine Copy Protection Scheme

From our front-page news:Last week, I posted somewhat of a <strike>small</strike> large rant to do with BioWare and EA's adding of some asinine copy protection to Mass Effect and Spore, respectively. Well, I was clearly not the only person annoyed, as not one, but both companies came forth on...

Data Recovered from Shuttle Columbia Hard Drive

From our front-page news:I have no doubts that every single person reading this has at some point lost data that should have been kept. Curses the Recycle Bin for making it so easy, I say. Happily though, the data is often recoverable with relatively inexpensive programs (such as R-Studio which...

    How-To: Check an MD5 Hash

An MD5 hash is a value based on an advanced cryptographic algorithm and has multiple uses. One of the most common is the storing of a password in an encrypted format. Our forums, and most other websites, will base encrypted passwords in MD5 since it's rather difficult to crack. Another popular...

    Razer/THX Mako 2.1-Channel Speaker System

Razer is well-known for producing high-quality peripherals, but audio can be an entirely different bag. Our concerns over their new found venture can be set aside though, as the tag team effort between them and THX helped build an amazing 2.1 system that's actually worth its $400 price tag. You...

Enthusiasts should avoid the 780G platform

I can guarantee you that even with an HD3450, there wouldn't be much "fun" to be had, especially on your beast of a monitor. You need to stop buying and selling so often ;-) Stick with what treats you well.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000

I wish I had a suggestion, but this is not a problem I've ever encountered before, nor do I have the mouse to re-test. It seems like the best idea is to just return the mouse and pick up a different one, if possible. You could try uninstalling the USB hardware under the Hardware Manager (name...

    Antec P182 Performance Mid-Tower

I'll let someone else with better chassis knowledge give a definitive answer, but I'm pleased with the Antec P182, and it's the reason I own two of them. What's the reason for going with an eATX motherboard, though? If you have a mid-tower case, it seems more sensible to go with a...

Enthusiasts should avoid the 780G platform

What is it with our staff lately? It seems no one can escape ridiculous bouts of bad luck. I'm with Bill though. I wouldn't ever imagine picking up a brand-new AMD board and processor and expect one to kill the other. It makes no sense. The fact is, 780G came out way after Phenom, so how could...

    Project: Deuce

Congrats on the sponsorship man! We've reviewed two Palit cards in the past and have more en route. Only good things to say about them so far. I do admit that the cooler on that card is the ugliest I've ever seen though. I guess tearing those off is really the only option. Interested to see...

    16-year-old survives 25,000V blast

Well, that was a train track, wouldn't an actual power station have more "oopmh" to allow a larger distance?

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - The New Budget Superstar?

Well, if you are going really budget, there is no real recommendation we could have given ;-) The 8500GT is exceptionally low-end, but if all you are doing is playing games at 1024x768 or lower, it shouldn't be a problem.

    ASUS P5E3 Premium WiFi-AP @n

You make good points, but what I was getting at was that there is nowhere on the board to connect those heatsink fans. The heatsink on the board is just not designed to have these coolers clipped to it. If you do try to connect it, they are likely to just fall off.

    D-Link DGL-4500 Xtreme N Gaming Router

He doesn't seem to be back :-/ I believed he was supposed to be back Thurs, but other things could have come up. Next time I talk to him, I'll point him here.
