Keeping PC's Cool During Summer Months

From our front-page news: Ahh, summer. The time for beaches, brews and babes. It's also the time of year when computers are your worst enemy. As if the heat from the sun isn't bad enough, we have CPUs reaching in excess of 50°C, resulting in a consistently warm room. It's a disaster if you...

Gentoo 2008.0 Released, Offers Revamped Installer

From our front-page news: It may have taken a while to get here, but the latest version of Gentoo, 2008.0, is now out and ready for your CD burners. The road to 2008.0 wasn't easy. We originally saw a skipped 2007.1 release, followed by a very-delayed current release, but hopefully things will...

Post a picture of your mobile PC!

The G1S is such a kick-ass notebook, I love it.

    Tiësto

Trance can mean a lot of different things, but a general summary of the music he would be is trance. Some of it could be techno, a lot of it progressive and some of it house. Most of the stuff I tend to love a lot is more trance, though. I like the vocal tracks, but I don't really prefer them...

    Tiësto

I should rephrase. I actually don't "dislike" country music... I own six Johnny Cash albums and also dig Kristofferson, Robbins, Nelson and a few others. It's the new-age country music that I consider to be retarded. But again, to each their own.

    Tiësto

Hah, glad you like him and that kind of music Merlin! Matt, not everyone will "get" this kind of music, just like I don't "get" country music. To each their own, really. We all have different tastes, and that's what keeps things interesting.

    Coolit Freezone

Kudos to you for purchasing another when the one you had was borked after only one year... I wouldn't have. I don't know of anyone else who has had a CoolIT long enough to voice an opinion, but I'd love to know the experiences of others. I know when we hooked up a CoolIT Freezone to a computer...

    Tiësto

I finally had the chance to see my favorite DJ in concert the other night, Tiësto, and all I can really say is 'wow'. I've been a massive fan of his for a while, but have never had the opportunity to see him perform live, but luckily enough, he finally came semi-close to here, so I couldn't pass...

    An interesting read...

I doubt all SUV drivers are assholes, but most people who are arrogant or ignorant tend to believe that bigger is better. Many people who own SUV's don't even use them for their intended design (sport-utility).

    An interesting read...

I would post about it... but as far as I'm concerned, this has never been much of a secret. Why do you think massive SUV's are featured in so many rap videos? Ever see a rapper that didn't have the ego the size of a US state? Ever meet a Hummer owner who wasn't the same way? The only...

    Against all good judgement

You can't use the TAB button to switch between functions on the screen? So in general, the keyboard is not working at ALL under safe mode? Did you try a different USB port than the one it's always been plugged into? It almost sounds like it's a motherboard problem.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - The New Budget Superstar?

Actually no, that's something I didn't even think to test. Next time I have it in the rig, I can test that out, although I'm unsure when that will be due to my current workload. Interesting how it would use less power with more performance though. Certainly not a bad thing.

OCZ's Neural Impulse Actuator On Sale

From our front-page news: In my travels around the web, I continually see people inquiring about OCZ's Neural Impulse Actuator and when it will be available. Well silly rabbit, it's been available for a while now. It's just that it's not available on many of the websites you regularly shop at...

NVIDIA's PhysX: Performance and Status Report

Your performance would likely be better than what I saw in my testing. Sadly, I was unable to test dual-GPU due to not having double GPUs of any supported card. Once the new driver is released, I'll take SLI 8800GTS 512 for a spin and release a follow-up article.

AMD HD 4850 - Best Mid-Range GPU Ever? Yes.

Too bad it's a massive cooler... not too many people are going to want to pay a lot for a cooler that limits their ability to use Crossfire (at least I assume it would). Nice temps, but so large...
