How multi-monitor gaming can give a competitive advantage...

After I posted our Eyefinity article, I decided to get back to testing, but a different kind of testing. One thing a lot of people don't realize is that multi-monitor gaming doesn't just give you a bigger game, but more game. We'll be posting a small article based around this soon, but since I...

Mac Sees More Games on Steam; Portal Downloaded 1.5 Million Times

Welp, Valve's Mac-based Steam client has been out for just over a week, and so far, things seem to have been going well. There have been reports of a couple issues related to SteamPlay for those who already own a particular title (Civilization IV in particular), and others seem to be...

    Pac-Man Turns 30

Pac-Man, the lovable character that looks like a yellow pizza with a slice or two missing, turns 30 tomorrow. In the early 1980's, the original Pac-Man game hit the arcades and caught on fast, and became one of the most played games at the time and for years to follow. Not bad for a game...

    Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 Vapor-X 2GB

As our games continue to become even more robust, it would seem likely that having more memory available to the GPU would prove useful, but are we soon to see 2GB cards become commonplace? After many completed tests with Sapphire's Radeon HD 5870 Vapor-X 2GB, we're having a hard time settling on...

BFG Tech to Cease Production of its Graphics Cards

Ahh, memories. It's too bad that's the first GPU I ever bought from BFG. Not a good kick-start to things.

ATI's Eyefinity: 18 Games Benched on 3 and 6 Displays

Welcome to the forums Hydralisk_X, and thanks for the post! :D Conveniently, 100% of the games we've been testing with have been available through Steam, so all should be as up-to-date as possible. Unfortunately, I am 95% certain that all of the CrossFireX issues we ran into were a driver...

ASUS' ROG Xpander Upgrades Rampage III Extreme to Quad-SLI

Today's desktop motherboards are more robust than ever, but have you ever purchased one and later regretted you didn't opt for one with a greater feature-set? Yeah, probably not. But if you have, and that extra feature-set includes Quad-SLI, then ASUS' ROG "Xpander" might be just for you...

    If the download doesn't start...

I went to download Bad Religion's latest live album last night (free!) and I found this bit quite humorous: "If Your Download Doesn't Appear, Upgrade Your Browser" If only other download sites were so brutally honest :D

Sony Rumored to Offer Premium PSN Service in Months Ahead

In today's console war (wait, there's still a console war?), one of the biggest arguments PlayStation fans make against the Xbox is that the latter charges a monthly (or yearly) fee to access its online service - or to be more specific, play online with friends. Given that this is fact...

BFG Tech to Cease Production of its Graphics Cards

Well, this news is a little bit upsetting. The folks at [H]ard|OCP have obtained a press release from BFG Tech that states its going to be ceasing production of its graphics cards... but, will still continue to deliver and develop both its power supplies, gaming desktops and notebooks...

    Are Previews Worth Even Reading?

When you're excited for any sort of product, whether it be a game, piece of software, or heck, even something like a car, do you fervently read previews as if they're going out of style? Chances are you do, not because it's common (though I'm sure it is), but because it's informative and...

    Awake during surgery? It happens!

Alright, I can't think of a worse hell than this. Imagine being put to "sleep" for a surgery of any sort, and then waking up during it, unable to move or speak. There was a recent movie based on just that premise, but I didn't realize it was so prevalent... it happens to 1 or 2 people out of...

Apple's iPad Not Affecting Mac Sales, But iPods See Decline

When Apple first launched the iPad, there was mass speculation as to what was going to happen to sales of its desktops and notebooks, but as recent reports show, the company's sales continue to roll along just fine. Sales of the desktop Macs and MacBook's haven't seen a drop, but rather an...

Seagate Confirms 3TB Hard Drives in 2010, But With a Few Catches

Last week, we posted about a rumor that 3TB hard drives could be en route for delivery in 2010, and it took no time at all for one company to step up to the plate and verify it: Seagate. In talking to UK tech site THINQ, Seagate's Senior Product Manager, Barbara Craig, admitted that it would...

ATI's Eyefinity: 18 Games Benched on 3 and 6 Displays

Well, it depends. If you went with Dell's 3008WFP displays, that would set you back about $4,000 for the three. One thing I didn't mention in the article due to space (it was getting long) is that another option is to stick with 27"/28" displays. You won't likely see the 2560x1600 resolution...

    Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Glad you like the keyboard! What do you mean by displaying the Fn key on the screen, exactly? I have never seen anything like that, but if you're using an OS that has visual cues on screen for turning the volume up and down, and other things like that, then the keyboard should still cue it fine...
