    oranges

There are 8 oranges in a box. How can you divide them between 8 people so that each person gets 1 orange, and 1 orange is still left in the box? Peeling or cutting not allowed.

    Heatsink testing methodology

    For obvious reasons I originally sent that as a private message to Rob. He responded with "<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <u1:WordDocument> <u1:View>Normal</u1:View> <u1:Zoom>0</u1:Zoom> <u1:TrackMoves/> <u1:TrackFormatting/> <u1:PunctuationKerning/> <u1:ValidateAgainstSchemas/>...

    Heatsink testing methodology

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2050379&highlight=w5580 The end of post #32 are the comments about this $10K workstation failing with Linpack. For more Dell so called failures, just google for them. Is it a failure when only the synthetic test program fails?

    Heatsink testing methodology

as requested ... I have avoided being contentious, but sometimes my will power is not what it could be. @rob @bill ... I have seen many claims and nothing substantiating the claims. Where is the data that indicates the LGA1156 socket is Intel's mainstream offering? Per a very...

    synthetic heat sink testing

What if? What if I built a synthetic test fixture for techgage? I will not review, so what would be the specs? This would be for someone else to use. I am not offended if it would not apply to techgage's interests. And, even if there is interest, is the resulting spec-ed device possible? Not...

    Zalman GS1000 Full-Tower

I would like to see the weight of cases listed. For me, I think it the only reason to shop for aluminum versus steel. Being interested in water cooling, I am always curious about convenience & the space of adding WC radiators like 2x120s or even 2x140s (well ... any size) plus fans internally...

    Heatsink testing methodology

It is terribly easy to go off topic & I apologize ... personal agendas & all that. I finally read the CoolIT ECO review & noted the case ... I have some questions & will post at the appropriate thread. Per this topic; Do you replace the m/b back plate to that supplied with each heatsink? Is...

    Think your PC is dirty?

I have been considering wall mounts for the PCs just to get them away from the floor. An alternative is to put them in a closet with forced filtered air flowing thru.

    90 degrees F here!!!!

I use SpeedFan & noticed that there are spikes that shoot up to 80C with the temps mostly in the low 70s. The program is doing an iteration with the spikes at the beginning of each step ... then there is a period of number crunch ... so this matches with the thermal log. And ... no crash:)

    Mid-Tower/Mini-Tower Cases

I like aluminum cases. I never think about moving the machines around much, but it does happen & aluminum versus steel is a pleasure. I have 3 Lian Li cases & like them quite a bit versus the 2 old full tower steel cases (they are cut for WC). The finish of Lian Li is pretty durable. There are a...

My comments are solely based on what can be found for enthusiast PC HSFs ... and, I think I pretty clearly state that.

    Heatsink testing methodology

I thought I responded to this, but apparently I must have hit the wrong key to post ... 1st time for everything. Reviews need to be factual. There is room for opinion in areas that are not tested. The reviewer noting personal views are interesting and important. To dis a method without testing...

The next version of Blu-ray, BDXL

Just when i was about to make the tumble into a Blu-ray writable drive, I see this. It makes no matter whether this will be a winner or not, but suddenly I will wait ... longer... before i dive in completely. I have a bit of a life-style change coming up & was considering "home"...
