Hi, Dad. I just saved your life. PS3 please!

Seems reasonable to me from a 9yr old's perspective.

    VGA/PSU Question (Possibly Idiotic.)

It'll probably be the 8900 and after that either the 9900 or 10,000 since not only is the 9800 an ATI card so is the 9600 and 9700. It would be hard to have a budget range in the 9900 series since the numbers would have to be the old ATI ones. I doubt we'll see X taking the place of 10 due to...

    VGA/PSU Question (Possibly Idiotic.)

LOL, yes it's more than up to the task. The OEM for that PSU is CWT and it's the same basis for the Koolance 1200W PSU (yeah I know there's a true 1200W CWT PSU out but they chose an 850W) so it's a really good unit.

    VGA/PSU Question (Possibly Idiotic.)

Does it feature four native PCI-e connectors? If so I'd say go for it since 850W is more power than you need for that rig.

Getting FREE Access to Pay Sites Via Google!

I dunno about getting you free access to pay sites but I know it'll get your permission to post in some forums removed... found that out first hand.

    Vantec SATA/IDE to USB Adapter

No, it doesn't defeat the purpose of the dongle. That's just the nastiness of password protecting your files and I assumed that it was the notebook that had failed and not the drive which is common. Ya know the scenario, clumsy user drops the notebook, the mobo takes a dump because of it but the...

    Vantec SATA/IDE to USB Adapter

You can't. The only way to access those folders would be to get an identical notebook and set it to boot off of a USB device, hook that drive to it and boot onto that drive in those user profiles and either disable the passwords or move the files into non-password protected folders.

    Vantec SATA/IDE to USB Adapter

Then your converter could be bad or the drive might be set to CS and not master. If the hard drive isn't set to master it will not access the drive.

Kid buys PS2 on eBay, receives $90K

With that much money I'd buy a nice gun or two just in case they came looking for the cash. That and a guard dog. Edit: Oh yeah, and a new PS2...

    Mortality

Thanks guys. Funny thing is that had it not been for my mom coming down ill when she did I'd have likely moved back to CA and have been Kelly's room-mate.

    Mortality

I was awoken tonight by a call from a high school friend letting me know that a mutual friend of ours passed away Friday. This kinda has me f'ed up ATM so please bear with me. We were pretty close, we both lost our mothers within a few days of each other and we'd been friends since '83. I was...

Prius drives 400,000km in 24 months and pays for itself in 12.

A pat on the head and an attaboy... I knew that the whole 100,000 mile life expectancy was a bit pessimistic.

Hook up PSU fan for CPU cooler wiring dilemma.

Taterworks is 100% correct in that the red is power, the black(s) are ground and the yellow is RPM. The PSU that fan was pulled from either had PSU RPM monitoring or it was an option from the OEM and to save time and stock complexity they used that same fan irregardless of whether or not the...

Buying a car from a different Country?

Move to Seattle or another boarder town on a temporary visa, buy a car, register said car there then move back. It should be cheaper than "importing" a car if it's registered in the US under your name first.

    Spire SP-ATX-600W Power Supply

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Other than the smell of the unit at higher loads I really enjoyed it myself. It's the first one I've had that's performed so badly.
