    AMD crossfire boards do exist?

I have yet to hear of anyone even having this working. At best, you can use a low end GPU that equals the IGP for Crossfire, but the whole idea of having a high end GPU in there while the IGP takes over has yet to be.

CPU Cooler Roundup - 22 Models Tackle Our QX6850

Using a long gone CPU for testing is not a good idea on any level. Using current tech that people are actually buying is. Even people still forced to run those old P4's are not going to be buying a $50+ heatsink to cool them while someone buying a $500+ current CPU will be and they will not...

CPU Cooler Roundup - 22 Models Tackle Our QX6850

Both of those coolers are beaten by current and cheaper coolers. The only people buying them are people not even taking a second to do any research on current coolers. I never said older coolers did not do a good job, but they have been equaled or beaten for some time and for alot less money...

    AMD crossfire boards do exist?

Any 790GX board is what you want for current AMD Crossfire. http://www.ncix.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=790gx There are 6 right there and they are very Phenom friendly too.

It's probably wrong... but... I think I have an addiction. My name is Scott.

Any decent dual core PC and a good current video card is more than most of us need. Switching to a 24" or larger LCD requires pretty much a good video card and 22" and under requires a good mid-range card. I upgrade for no logical reason and regret it almost every time.

Who's planning to upgrade to Nehalem?

Not a chance. I don't find the performance increase even remotely worth the price of admission. The only possible way you will see a Nehalem system in my signature is if Techgage decides to send me one and somehow I just don't see that happening! (Don't worry Rob, it is also nowhere near...

CPU Cooler Roundup - 22 Models Tackle Our QX6850

Honestly, I find it less than useful to use an older system to test new coolers. Right now, the test rig is in my sig that would be used for future testing. Same with heatsinks. Comparing a year old heatsink to a new one makes little sense since hardly anyone would want to even buy a year...

CPU Cooler Roundup - 22 Models Tackle Our QX6850

Because we were only able to test the coolers that were readily available to us at the time. We plan on some more mini-reviews of newer models soon.

Going Higher than 1.65v DIMM on X58 Can Damage CPU?

Wouldn't the memory controller be the part of the CPU that is tied with the Vdimm setting? I believe the confusion was that the Vcore and Vdimm was tied together, but that makes no sense. What I don't understand is why Intel did not make the memory controller work off Vdimm voltage ONLY and...

    Is it worth the $100...

Most SSD's fall behind in writing speeds, but does that really matter when you are looking for drop protection? I mean they are still good enough when it comes down to it, the price is really the limiting factor here.

    Case Fans

The Noctua's have the best possible performance of all quiet fans. I love mine to pieces and actually need 2 more for my case so I can trash the lousy noisy Zalman fans.......

    Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Don't give the G7 too much credit. I have one and changing the battery every 12 hours or so is getting old. Atleast there are 2 batteries, but powerin a backlit keyboard would be sure to eat up batteries far quicker than you could charge them.

NVIDIA at a Disadvantage Due to their Choice of Solder?

WOW, when Goliath falls, he sure hits hard. If you ask me, the current state of Nvidia is the same as when Intel was riding the Pentium 4 wave. They got cocky and are sure paying the price for it.....

Will the Playstation 4 Omit Blu-ray?

If you ask me, what is going to happen is that they will put some sort of nasty ass cap on internet use, like 40-50GB for everyone, but Internet TV will be a monthly fee for unlimited TV/movie usage. IF they do it any other way, there will be not enough bandwidth for internet TV/movies and...

    I lost my know-how overnight!

Personally, I am just plain biased against OCZ power supplies. They have poor ripple surpression, and I feel that their takeover of PC P&C was not good for quality control. I have noticed more people complaining about them now than ever. I could be wrong, but I still would take any...

    I lost my know-how overnight!

If I were you, I'd RMA it and get a Silverstone DA750 or even one of the new BFG ES series PSU's. PC P&C are no longer their own company and I fear quality control is no longer a top priority like it used to be.

Will the Playstation 4 Omit Blu-ray?

Bandwidth caps are going to severely limit anything like major movie streaming from the internet. I already have a 60GB monthly limit and I use about 1/2 of that for normal use. I don't use torrents and I don't download movies and music either. With US companies looking to impose similar...

Is Vista Driving People Towards Linux?

XP was a steaming pile of garbage for almost 2 years before they got the bugs worked out. The people dropping Windows for Linux over Vista are fools and their poor choice shows it. I don't enjoy Microsoft's monopoly on the OS scene, but we have to live with reality. What makes me laugh the...

Will the Playstation 4 Omit Blu-ray?

The other problem I have with this is the fact that everyone I know that owns a PS3 over any other console bought the PS3 BECAUSE of the Blu-Ray play built in. I could see them maybe offering a low end model without it, but once Blu-Ray gets itself some better implementation and they stop...
