Thirteen OS X Widgets You Should Be Using

Wow. I am completely ignorant of all things Mac, but that article almost makes me want to go out and pick up OS X to toy with. I hope MacMan doesn't see this...

    OCZ releases DDR3-1800 modules

Good thing OCZ is on the case!

Porsche Targa stolen... then stolen again...

'Jackass'? I guess that depends on your view-point. One could also argue that the guy had a serious set of cojones, and a real sense of dedication. Also, he hasn't been caught yet - 'yet' of course being the operative word. However considering that he stole the car twice, I'd say that he...

    OCZ releases DDR3-1800 modules

Looking forward to that review! Do you have any word on when nVidia SLI motherboards using DDR3 will hit the shelves?

    Canon EOS 30D/20D/10D/D60/D30

When I need info on digital cameras, I use two sites: Steve's Digicams has the most comprehensive camera reviews I have seen. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the other site I used, but it was similar to Steve's Digicams in that it's all one guy writing the reviews. There were some...

Noctua NF-R8 and NF-S12 Fans, NC-U6 Chipset Cooler

For those of you who like silence, SPCR was also pleased with the Noctua 120mm fan. SPCR also did a second 120mm fan comparison here. Here's a link to SPCR's recommended fans - Noctua is currently at the top. For those on a budget though, I'm not aware of any better deal than the Yate Loon...

Why do fancy fan controllers only control 4 fans?!

Product Link, allow me to emphasize: The best part is that each channel can provide 20 total watts of output so you can power as many fans as you want, as long as you do not exceed 20W per channel. This would explain why the 8 fans in my case have been pleasantly throttled down since January...

Why do fancy fan controllers only control 4 fans?!

Maybe I'm not in touch with the majority of PC enthusiasts, but it seems to me that of the people who would pay $40 or more for a fancy-schmancy fan controller, most of those people would want to have multiple fans on a single channel. But I must be wrong, because the only controller...

    Zalman ZM-MFC2 Fan Controller

How many watts per channel????? I recently had a poor experience with the Scythe Kama-Meter. Some people on Newegg had similar problems. The Kama-meter was quality in every way except the one that matters most. Looking at the Zalman product specification page, I don't see watts/channel...

    Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 Quad-Core

Anandtech took a pretty decent shot at my question (at stock speeds, anyway). The 6850 has an 8 to 10 percent advantage in the games that were tested compared to the Q6600, and as much as I want to want the Q6600, the waters are very muddy when overclocking comes into play - you (and many...

    Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 Quad-Core

1st pic on the overclocking page appears to be mislabeled. Nice read, Rob. If you were to take some OC/Temp/power measurements with one or more cores disabled, I'd be very interested in seeing it. In fact, should Intel start selling the E6850 and the Q6600 both for $266/k, I think it'd be...

ASUS board with no memory slots

..And hopefully leaving very shortly. I don't even understand how their 'perfect T-tree' is supposed to help - they say it'll 'reduce clock cycle timing by 50%'. WTF does that mean? All the timings get cut in half? So it's the motherboard that causes RAM to require higher timings...

Prius drives 400,000km in 24 months and pays for itself in 12.

Matt should like this one. I wonder what you get when the car company wants to take your car back for research? A new car and a gold star sticker? Edit: 400,000km = 248,600 miles.

    Bad Religion

I dunno, Suffer was good, but I lost interest around the No Substance period. Addicted was a nice way to ease into the 5th button on GH though. I like my punk with brass, a la Catch 22, who have also seen better days. (At least Bad Religion still sounds like Bad Religion!) One thing I...

    Vista... sucks

I definitely don't want to defend MS here, because I've never used Vista, but I have called customer support a number of times when re-installing XP Pro. I've done at least half a dozen re-installs of XP Pro, and after the 2nd or 3rd time I called MS CS explaining that I was...

    140mm Fans

You can get 140mm Yate Loon fans without too much trouble these days. I think it'd be great to have more 140mm fans on cases and PSUs. I also wouldn't mind a couple radiators designed with 140mm fans in mind.
