Your highest 'Powered On' hard drive?

For interest's sake, I decided to load up HD Tune and see what the oldest-running drive I have is, and it turns out to be Seagate's 1TB Barracuda, running for a total of 32574 hours (~3.7 years). What have you guys got?

Drink too much? Blame your glass!

This is kind of interesting. Researchers have found that when you drink beer out of a curved glass, chances are you'll end up drinking more because of the illusion it creates (that you aren't drinking as much as you actually are). As such, you end up not pacing yourself like you would with a...

The *Official* I'm Pumped For Borderlands 2 Thread AKA Here's My Wallet, Randy!

Oh man *slaps head* :D For a guy that claims to not care much for MMOs, you sure do play a lot of them :P Hmm, I guess it's fine if you want the up-front fee, but I'm with you in it not being super-compelling. And I couldn't agree more about the DLC being worth it anyway, if it's...

It's a sad day for the MMO world; NCsoft has announced the closure of Paragon Studios, effective immediately. Fractal Design Array R2 mini-ITX NAS Chassis Review

With mass storage being available at reasonable prices, the desire to build home servers, NAS boxes and so forth has never been stronger. Some might choose the pre-built NAS route, but for those pro-DIY, Fractal Design has its Array R2. Interested in a mini-ITX chassis that can support up to 6...

BioWare's latest Mass Effect 3 DLC, Leviathan, plunges Commander Sheppard into a new story of intrigue and perilous danger. Western Digital Red NAS Hard Drive Review

True, but when you're a performance hound, capabilities also matter. Especially in a RAID 5 configuration, which typically isn't nearly as fast as JBOD, any extra speed is going to be appreciated. It's very difficult for any drive to compete against one with 1TB platters.

    New Hardware!

Nice man! And yes, take full advantage of the nice weather that's left. How has the fog down your way been anyway? I know you're awful close to the water so in my mind each day is probably a 50% chance of fog, haha (though the windstream could easily make it a 0% chance). Haha!

BioWare: Some Gamers Want Day-one DLC

Your second point ties into what I mentioned in the post about there being different development teams for DLC. In the developer's eyes, the DLC is an entirely separate project, and though it's included on the disc, it's just because it's the common-sense thing to do. The problem of course, is...
