GTA: Vice City coming to iOS / Android

I think Vice City was really the only GTA I ever truly got into. The environments, the music, the comedic parts... it was just great. I am kind of looking forward to GTA V though... it has major potential.

PS2 came out 12 years ago today

Does anyone else here have fond memories of this console? I don't have nearly as many as I did with the PS1, and I actually never even owned a PS2 (I did buy one for mom back in the day, though), but I did put in quite a bit of time into it thanks to friends...

GTA: Vice City coming to iOS / Android

GTA III has been available for these mobile platforms for a while, but that game never grabbed me quite like Vice City did, so I am looking forward to this. I just hope that Rockstar is able to bring all of the music over to this point, as that's one of the things that made the game so great...

Windows 8 Review - Part One: The Things I Hate

The main reason is that despite the number of things I don't like about the OS, almost all of them are related to the Start screen which I don't use that often. The increased performance and other niceties make up for it. I am not sure I'd recommend it if you had to pay the full upgrade price...

Windows 8 Launches Friday - Will You Be Buying It?

Haha, agreed Mario. A lot of memes drive me bonkers, but I've lightened up towards some of them... for some reason. Could be that Facebook is spammed with them all day long, so it was either accept it, or go insane.

Windows 8 Review - Part One: The Things I Hate

No comments all day, and then three within the span of one minute. Not bad! :D I agree totally with you guys. Despite all of the "hate" I have in this article, I still prefer to stick with Windows 8. I do feel like I'm inching towards replacing the Start screen with the old-fashioned menu...

Windows 8 Review - Part One: The Things I Hate

You've heard it here first: Microsoft is about to release a new version of Windows. Called "Windows 8", the OS aims to change the way we use our computers, and it's been built from the ground up with touch in mind. Like all other OS releases, there's both things to admire and things to complain...

Apple Unveils iPad Mini and Updated iPad

Well, I was thinking more of the iPad 3 and then the recent MacBook Pros. I guess I didn't consider the other part of the product-line. Well, yes, but it's still suitable for general-purpose computing ;-) Edit: I just noticed you changed your avatar, LOL. Not sure what took me so long. Nice one.

Apple Unveils iPad Mini and Updated iPad

Yeah, I admit the new iMacs are pretty cool. You'd almost have to do a double-take when hooking one up, "Where's the computer?!".

Windows 8 Launches Friday - Will You Be Buying It?

I still recommend VMware Player unless there's a specific reason to recommend VirtualBox. Player is absolutely free, and in my experience has always offered the better experience.

    Wednesday's PS3 4.30 Firmware Update to Remove Folding@home Client

I just remember it being a lot more than 1K, and 4K seemed familiar. I almost feel like booting it up just to check, but I assume there wouldn't even be a workload for it.

Apple Unveils iPad Mini and Updated iPad

Yeah... about the same for me. Though I do like the performance the full iPad offers. If game developers can make good use of the updated graphics capabilities, the results could be

AMD Launches First 'Vishera' FX CPUs, Includes 8-core FX-8350 at 4GHz

Thanks a lot for doing the math... that is very interesting. Especially for Folders, it makes sense to opt for the beefier chip when it means the power consumption is lower. And when you put it in this sort of perspective, it goes to show just how much it actually matters that power consumption...

The Only Reason To Buy An iPhone!

I'm sure it'll come to Android at some point. If I were a developer I think I'd develop for iOS first also, just because there are far fewer devices to worry about. Just look at reviews on apps over at Google's Play Store and you can begin to see how experiences can change for people based on...

    Wednesday's PS3 4.30 Firmware Update to Remove Folding@home Client

This is true, and one of the reasons I'd rather just leave the PS3 to rot in the corner than to turn it on and add a ton of heat to the room. It's hard to beat a CPU+GPU combo nowadays. Good point. I ran into similar performance limitations when running Linux on it as well... having access to...

Windows 8 Launches Friday - Will You Be Buying It?

Holes like that creep up all the time... can't avoid them. Usually the big ones get patched quick. You could just install it with VMware Player or something. I have found W8 in a VM isn't as good as native installed though, mainly because of the hotspots the new OS has (like putting your mouse...

Windows 8 Launches Friday - Will You Be Buying It?

I am a sucker for new things... I upgrade most often even if I don't "need" to. I just like knowing I have the most up-to-date OS (this goes for Linux also) possible. Now, if I couldn't get past the Start page, and it bothered me enough, that right there would cause me to back off and sit out a...
