It's World Backup Day - Backup Your Shit!

Oddly, Defiance is the same way. I had 4 hours clocked in before I actually played the game, because you need the launcher to DL the game :S

It's World Backup Day - Backup Your Shit!

The Lord of the Rings Online 276.3 hrs / 913 hrs Are you sure it's not just a sign?!?! :D (I kid, I know you obviously leave it open 24/7, I do the same in an MMO).

My first 5 seconds with Windows Server 2012

I could totally understand remotely tapping into a server with a tablet or something, but realistically, that'd be useful only if the changes needing to be made are simple. I really hate having to type in numbers and things like that on a touch device... it's way easier with a numpad or keyboard...

My first 5 seconds with Windows Server 2012

That's a major exaggeration. When I moved our site to this current server, all I was given was the barebones Debian install (which, at this point, uses about 80MB of RAM). From there, it likely took no more than 250 characters to have the site fully operational. Those ~250 characters...

    April Fools'

Anyone have any favorite April Fools' jokes they want to share? I've been trying to avoid the Internet like the plague, but I did like this one: Deus Ex 8-bit: http://www.deusex.com/

My first 5 seconds with Windows Server 2012

I tend to believe that servers should NOT have user interfaces to begin with, but Microsoft here has gone against that wish full-force by adding in a cutesy layer overtop of everything. It's just foolish. Makes me wonder what the next version of Server is going to look like. Surely most IT...

It's World Backup Day - Backup Your Shit!

As the title says, don't be the fool that ends up losing data because you were too lazy to make proper backups! As always, I highly recommend SyncBack Free for the job, since it's quite powerful for being 100% free. http://techgage.com/article/using_syncback_to_synchronize_your_windows_folders/

My first 5 seconds with Windows Server 2012

I couldn't believe it when I first learned that the server product would ALSO use the same Start screen as the consumer variant... it just leaves me in awe. It's as if Microsoft simply doesn't WANT the IT departments around the globe to adopt its latest OS.

    Kingston SV300 120GB Mini-Review

Great look, Kay! I love the V300... quite a nice value drive. What I gleaned most from your results is just how much of a difference the on-board (as in, motherboard) controller can make. Your overall AS SSD result for the V4 was 628, while on Robert's test platform (using an Intel...

Well, I don't think this is supposed to happen...

H8ers gonna H8! I have no clue whatsoever. This is the first time the issue has crept up, so if it keeps on doing so, that'll be the time to investigate. I'm hoping it just has to do with the fact that I'm running a GPU-accelerated app inside of a virtual machine like 24/7 - though...

I don't think I've had this kind of desktop corruption since the Windows XP days!

4x Titan using HD 7970 VRMs

So, this is about as intense as it gets. 4x Titans, each equipped with a VRM ripped from an ASUS HD 7970 card. There are a couple of things I am not understanding though, such as how they got 4x Titans to work when NVIDIA only supports 3x. But given the frankenstein they created here, it's...

    Well, this is odd.

It just seems fishy to me. Two Ricks talking about the same Synology NAS use, and then another Rick for good measure. All I can say is, suuuuuuuuuuure.

    Well, this is odd.

I was looking around at the different video players for Android, and stumbled on Archos'. But then I looked at the reviews and there was something odd I found about the first three reviewers... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.archos.mediacenter.video

I don't like it quite as much as the original either, but it's good. Ironically, I just stumbled-on this last night, and posted a pic to Facebook:
