Anybody else use only the onboard audio?

The biggest thing is that alot of onboard sound is most of them dont have dedicated DSP's. Meaning that what the sound processor cant figure out on its own, has to be picked up by the CPU. WHich uses clock cycles, which of course slows down the processing speed of the game your playing. Where...

Anybody else use only the onboard audio?

Im currently useing the nF2 SoundStorm. Its suited me well over the years. It certaintly is a nice feature to jsut plug it straight into my reciever witht eh S/PDIF and use the Dolby Digital Live option. Makes it very easy set up for watching movies or other content on my TV. Though i will...

    decent and cheap headphones?

Plantronics makes a basic gaming headset that can be picked up for around $25 on-line. Ill tryt og et the actual model number, but they are the low end of the stick for their line. But still use the same drivers as most of their other headsets, just without the extra fluff features. Ive been...

    Networking - seeking solutions

DO you have Windows Internet connection shring properly setup? I know its a silly question, but still. Also, you may not need to use a X-over cable. ALot of modern NIC's are auto sensing, and will configure the pinouts accordingly at the cards end.

Turtle Beach Ear Force HPA Headset

Couple of things. The design of the "holes" in the headseat are part of its audio design. There are two basic types of headphone...circumaural and supra-aural. Check out this page, for a full run down of the two different types of designs. http://richardbrice.net/headphones.htm...

nVidia Buys ULi, Could This Mean Troubles For ATI?

ATi should drop out of the chipset market all together. Buy some licencing rights from nVidia for the nF4 SLi chipset. And go that route. Im sure nVidia would welcome the competition. Or Intel needs to get off their duff and get somthing going in teh SLi front. EIther way ATi's chipsets...

    Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

Ive read a couple of little blurbs that MS plans to release a USB dongle that will be compatible with the wireless controlers. But theres no idea when that will happen. And its somwhat unlikely that a thrid party will release a USB dongled version either. COnsidering that if they made a...

    In-Depth Look: Futuremark 3D Mark 06

Sorry ive been away fromt eh puter for a while. Im not saying there are actual game demos there. In-Depth Look: Futuremark 3D Mark 06

Im guessing that Intel spent a crap ton of money to get 3dM06 optimized for their CPU, to use it as heavy marketing to attempt to pull themselves up from the hammer fisted beating from AMD this year. Strange, the Intel get better 3dMarks...yet any game ou there on teh market runs faster on...

    computer acting up need help!

I would kind of lean twords motherboard too. But honestly, it wouldent hurt to try a new PSU in there as well. The problems you described could be caused by one or the other. Take your pick on what you want to try first. And expect on replacing both. In all honesty, if you can afford to...

    Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

Havent tried it. Cant say i ever will. PC first person shooters are meant to be played with a mouse and keyboard. Trying to play with a controler will jsut be an exercise in frustration. I dont think that COD2 has any special PC functionality for the 360 controler. Im sure it would work jsut...

    Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

Aparently MS is planning on releaseing a USB dongle for the wireless controlers at a later date. Somthing to do with a limited supply of wireless controllers dude to their popularity on the 360. So one demand forthe wireless controlers settles down on the console. They will release a "PC...

    Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

Ok, well, through tinkering with the calibration, i was able to get full axis on the triggers. HOWEVER...the right trigger works great. The left trigger is reversed. So its full when released, and reads 0 when depressed. Works ok for some games that recognize it, works backwards for...
