Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

That looks like a CNC miller... can see the outline of the word CNC on the left side (though that could be a model reference). CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) mill is a bit different from a router. They are automated milling machines that can use Router bits. You program in a cutting...

Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

A Router (woodworking kind - not the networking kind), is either a hand-held or table top - High speed (30k rpm), small bit, cutting tool, think of a dremel on steroids. The bits come in many shapes and sizes, so it can do decorative finishes, grooves, curves, etc. They're usually used in...

    Please help cpu warning cmos

Unplugging it cuts the earth/ground connection, so if any static builds up, it has nowhere to discharge. Switch it off at the mains, or the switch on the back of the PSU, but don't unplug.

    Please help cpu warning cmos

If it was a LGA 1156, i would have mentioned something along the lines of this.... But as this is not the case (i presume, but you never know) , then i'm kind of at a loss. Don't go by bought date for batteries, you don't know how long the boards been sitting on a shelf, in a box, packed away...

Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

If the blade is tilting, there are a number of reasons.... One, the jigsaw 'jig'/guide isn't straight (some can lean up to 45 degree), make sure it is properly 0'd out. Second, your not pushing down firmly enough and the saw is bouncing up and down causing the blade to wobble around. Third...

Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

Indeed. The sharper the better. It is worth the time to invest in learning how to sharpen chisels/tools as well, preferably with a progressive set of finer whetstone's. Only use a grinder to get rid of any dents or chips, you can't use them for final sharpening and honing the edge. With...

Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

Nothing special, it's a chisel. You mark out where the hinge goes, make light indentations with the chisel around the edge, then you remove the wood layer by layer to create a groove for the hinge to rest. Just pilot the holes and use flat head screws.

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

(i'm whining and ranting again at the end, to which i apologize) I have a couple questions about a few things with regard to 7 and vista, but i am more interested in 7 since it is likely to be the next os i use. While i've tried to read into feature changes, quite often, there are little...

Wooden PC Case in the making - Got Questions.

That's probably aluminum dioxide. Supposed to last longer than the standard stuff, but in truth, it makes little difference (it stays sharper for longer, but it'll get packed with dust and resin just the same). Typically, for wood, the finest grit used is about 400, anything above is polishing...

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

You need to use the command to insert the picture into the post. So you upload the picture or file, then click the paperclip icon again and it'll show you a list of attachments. You click one and it'll create the attach flags around the attachment number assigned to that item. So in this...

    EVGA's W555 Dual-Socket Motherboard Redefines High-End

I guess my prediction wasn't off then when i said 2x 1.2kw.... Just thinking of the internal wiring is a headache. Which PSU would power which components? My guess is, one PSU powers the 2 processors and mother board (including the PCI-E lanes) and the second PSU (using a jumper switch i...

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

I was thinking about bringing this up when i mentioned the icons, but it's not strictly an OS issue. What really drives me up the wall is applications that set 'startup with windows' flags.... it actually makes me angry sometimes, just because of the persistence of the application in trying to...

    P6X58D/H50 Case

Do you already have the HP LP2475w monitor? If so, never mind... But just saying, there's the new-ish Dell U2410 that came out late last year, its colour calibration is much better than the old Dell's and the HP - using an IPS screen. But having said that, the HP - if bought from HP itself - can...

    EVGA's W555 Dual-Socket Motherboard Redefines High-End

I see a water cooling labyrinth of Ivy in the near future. 7x PCI-E x16 slots... 4 fitted with single socket waterblocked GPU's, 3 FusionIO drives, 2 xeon's @ 4Ghz, 48GB ram (probably ECC), 2x 1.2KW PSU. 4 or 5 Radiators, 2 pumps, 10 meters of vinyl, couple gallons of water. 4 SSD's in RAID...

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

[sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant, though it may be constructive... maybe] Sorry, my rant wasn't really against the god app aggregater, but more of the easter egg thats needed to unlock it. Many users like these sorts of things, gives them that warm fuzzy feeling like finding out about...

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

Vista was on a DVD as well, in fact, the OS install was larger than 7 by about 2GB. GUI adjustments are nice and all, some of which are practical, other times (and more frequently) they add more movement to an RSI ridden hand, those few extra clicks to get to some buried option, all for the...

    The new build ...

Well, copper has better thermal conduction than aluminum, it's not a huge amount, but there is a difference none the less, so the same logic can still be applied, you would need to have a very high pressure to negate the heat transfer of water --> copper. I admit, thermal conduction is a little...

    The new build ...

I've never dealt with water cooling, so take whatever i say with a pinch of salt... When measuring with your IR-Thermo, all you're picking up is the external temperature of what your measuring, not the water temperature. The tubing itself is plastic, thus an insulator, so it would take a...
