    Logitech X-540 5.1 Speakers

You'll be fine with the X-540 or similar setup. Gaming and movies would be good, but music is going to sound flat. With the smaller space, the wiring shouldn't be a problem.

    Logitech X-540 5.1 Speakers

My friend has an X-540, it packs quite a punch. How much can you get them for? Be aware though that Logitech has been known to skimp on wire lengths, what size room will you need these for? Also, what will you be using them for? Gaming, music, movies, etc.

Yeah.... :( I don't know how it happened. I used to chill at 1400x900, but the gf and then had mom visit a couple of weeks ago...one thing led to another...Oh Gawd! Don't look at me! DON"T LOOK AT MEE!!

Family Guy Set to Help Sell Windows 7

Family Guy just seems better because of The Cleveland Show, which makes any show juxtaposed to it look good. In my opinion the best moments in Family Guy were during Seasons 1-4 and it's currently suffering from The Simpsons Syndrome: having been on air for so long they're running out of good...

Intel's "Sponsors of Tomorrow" Commercials - Marketing Brilliance?

Lol, funny vids, especially the "Our Parties aren't like your parties." You can tell Intel paid a pretty penny to whichever marketing agency created these ads. Coupled with Intel record third quarter results, this makes me long for another chip maker to make the market more competitive.

    Tiesto - Kaleidoscope

So today I saw Tieto's new CD and decided to purchase it (maybe seeing it repeatedly in someone's avatar had a role). Was very surprised to hear the new sound. It's not trance, but this isn't a complete departure either. So far I like what I hear. Will be delving into it deeper tonight while...

Microsoft Looks to Many-Core Future: Windows 7 Supports up to 256 Cores

Hehe. The major problem with multiple cores is the vast power consumption and the heat that will be generated. Not to mention chip size limitations. That said, we might be closer to a dozen cores than you think. :)...

Lol, you're a regular MacGyver. Give a rubber band, a paper clip, and some scotchbrite and I'll make you some Bose headphones!

Is Intel Cheating for Higher 3DMark Scores?

Agreed. If in-game performance is improving, it's okay to engineer the same improvements in the benchmark. The trouble is that this kind of performance doesn't affect all games and that is what's wrong here. Now if Intel can create a driver that can automatically shift workload from GPU to CPU...

ATI Radeon HD 5770 - DirectX 11 for the Masses

Sorry, I wasn't sure what was the major reason for the performance drop. The 5770 also sacrifices half the ROPs and memory bandwidth as well. That would be one thing to consider. Again the edge that ATI holds here is that the 5000 series are the only cards in the market that support DirectX...

NVIDIA Inside of Nintendo's Next-Gen Handheld?

Agreed. Both the DS and the Wii have been huge successes, and perhaps Nintendo believed that the extra investment in better graphics would not be prudent. If the Wii shipped out with PS3 level graphics, the console price would have been much higher and Nintendo would have incurred a loss on...

NVIDIA Inside of Nintendo's Next-Gen Handheld?

I reaally hope this partnership goes through. Nintendo has some great ideas (motion sensing, dual screen DS), but its graphics have always been lackluster. Not only does this hurt its bottom line, but also limits the types and number of games the console can support. It's about time Nintendo...

Conan O'Brien Interviews Intel's Ajay Bhatt

Very funny clip! Saw this earlier. Conan surprises me now and then with a great skit. It's true that engineers and geeks don't get our due respect. That has resulted in US losing its intellectual capital over the last several years.

Is Intel Cheating for Higher 3DMark Scores?

If anything, this reduces the credibility of 3DMark Vantage scores. Consumers should pay special attention to in game performance when making decisions on which chipset to go with. We shouldn't forget, ATI has used similar optimization for their own graphics cards in the past: Benchmarking...

    A quicky survey...

I have a Toshiba Satellite x205. Possibly the best speaker system you'll find in a laptop. For media player, I use VLC player. Nothing special, I know, but it does it's job. :) I think I will do when I get a gaming rig (when I can afford it), I will install an awesome sound system, along with...
