The hell is the point of that thing? And it's not even the 448 core that's rumored to be coming out soon.

I mean, it's a 3-slot cooler that takes up 6-slots worth of space...

I'm not even sure I understand the point. Maintaining stability, this card core overclocks up to 1000 MHz on my Asus model. I have it currently set at 950 MHz core and 1335 MHz memory. Temperature never reaches 85c.

I think it's a waste. Maybe if I saw something like this on a 580... at least in that one the heatsink wouldn't probably cost as much as the card itself.

Kiss your beefy tower air cooler good bye. If you aren't running a low profile cooler or all in one liquid cooler you're hosed.

The point is to see how much weight the PCIe slot can hold before it just snaps clean off the board. Those PCIe 3.0 slots are much stronger ya know...
