I've installed an OS on a drive in one system and then transferred it over to another but that was as soon as the install was completed. No drivers, no craziness. Just install and switch.

Heh. guess so. I think the RAM is set to the default 1066mhz...gonna try to set it to 1600 once I have the fresh install done and see if it will boot fine. I VERY rarely shut off my computer completely...so I don't think I'll have to deal with the 1600mhz cold boot issue very often.

*EDIT*

Well, I put the second stick of RAM back in and it loaded fine and detected it at 1600mhz. lol. Installing Windows now.
