I see what Rob meant...

when he said the lengths you'd have to go to to see playable framerates in Metro 2033 DX11 isn't worth it. Just found a benchmark where they actually did it. I laughed my butt off.

Guess the Radeon 5970 isn't superior in everything....bahahaha. 0 fps FAIL

How many of us run at 2560x1600 though?

I should fire it up tonight and see how it goes at 1680x1050.

Can't tell you. I've had it installed for almost 2 months and haven't even played it in between being a Dad, Black Ops and that mysterious thing called sleep.

It looks pretty though! If anybody likes the survival horror genre where you just can't run in with guns blazing and put three clips into the wall this may be a good one.

Maybe I'll put some time into it this week or next since I have late shifts for both weeks.

Hey looks like my GTX 275s should hit about 20 FPS, wait double that and maybe a touch more since my resolution is less than half that :p

Bear in mind that while these results are at 2560x1600, the fact that the performance is so bad at that point doesn't give much confidence for running lower resolutions. Even if an HD 5970 could deliver 40 FPS at 1680x1050, that does us no good for testing. It's not a good thing when the best-performing card in our line-up delivers a just-playable frame rate at 1680x1050.

tPU tested with AA as well, which is something I wouldn't have done. You can see our results running at DX 10 with no AA at all, and how most cards are barely playable at those settings.

It's interesting how both AMD and NVIDIA have pushed this game hard for its DX 11 support, isn't it?

I just fired up the game and was able to run it fully pimped in DX11 at 1680x1050 with no slow down although I don't know the exact frame rate. I need to get FRAPS up and running again. It's a far cry from the resolution you tested it at but at least it can be run well.

That benchmark looks a bit off to me anyway with a 5970 being beat by a 5870, even if it is by .4 of a frame.

I'm guessing there's just some major issue with that card and those settings. Problems like that with dual-GPU cards are too common sometimes.
