Looks like Acer's Iconia touchbook was voted one of the 10 best pieces of tech at this year's CES. I'd love to get my mitts on one of these for a review.

*hint, hint*

All I'd like to know is:

Being that this new "professional" monitor sports a 1920X1200 resolution and a 16/10 aspect ratio, can it correctly display an image from a 1080P 'only' source 9 such as those produced from a gaming console like a PS3 or a BluRay player?

It has an HDMI port included, but is it good for anything other than a computer signal that can be adjusted to the native resolution?

Will a signal from a fixed resolution (1080P) source be stretched to fit and distorted or will it just leave a black bar on the upper and lower edges and display properly?

It should display correctly with black borders. :)

HDMI is a two-way interface, so yes it should work fine regardless of what type of signal is sent through it. The monitor itself will be able to work with it as long as it's within the display capabilities of the device. In fact I stream content via my computer to my HDTV via HDMI. A Blu-ray player should have zero issues as it is effectively a computer inside, and is designed to output a very wide range of formats.
