Benchmarking High Scores

I just kinda show up...

Piss off! Aquamark is the single best benchmark ever. It might actually save humanity. That or I just want to include it to justify the countless nights it's stolen from me.

I agree with Super PI. I got 17 seconds on my gaming machine, and 23 seconds on my Dual CPU Xeon Server. I don't get that at all. Must be purely CPU speed determined.

CPU and memory..............;)

I like messing with SuperPi myself. It takes a ton of tuning to get your times down.

SuperPi is just incredibly single-threaded, so having a higher score doesn't mean much. BUT, if single-core frequency is what we are going for, then it could be included.

SuperPi just doesn't do much for me. It was far cooler back when single and dual-cores were king, but with the advent of Quad-Cores, it's lost it's appeal. For example, a 3.5GHz OC'd E6600 would beat out a 3.0GHz QX9650, despite them being on an entirely different level, and that's what I find odd.

If you all think we should include it... then we can. I do think it should be the 32Mil test only though... the others complete far too quick.

Some sites do 1 meg while others do 32 meg, guess it really doesn't matter.

You're right about the difference in single/dual cores against Quads, I guess I still like it because I still run a dual core.............;)

We can pass on it if you like, it was just a suggestion.........:)

I'm easy that way.

Better with a FSB of 400

Finally figured out to OC the FSB and reran the LightsMark video test CPU @ 37C

Cool, now push those cores a bit harder, you shouldn't have to many more problems...............;)

Make sure that you disable all the un-needed junk in the bios aswell, that help make it more stable...............;)

CPU Thermal Control
C1E Enhance Halt State
Intel Speedstep

CPU Spread Spectrum to Disable
HT Spread Spectrum to Disable
PCIe Spread Spectrum(SPP) to Disable
PCIe Spread Spectrum(MCP) to Disable
SATA Spread Spectrum to Disable

This link is for 680i OC'ing, but seeing as the 680i and 780i are basicly the same chip set, there should be some pretty good info in there for you to go by..............:D

There's always going to be those that are going to cheat at everything just to make themselves look bigger or better than everyone else. I don't understand it myself either, but whatever blows their skirt up as they say...........;)

Don't worry about the cheaters... they only do it to make themselves feel better since they've never had sex with a woman.

That's my theory, anyway.
