AMD is Doing Away with "ATI" Branding

See that ATI logo at the bottom of this post? Well, get your fill now, because pretty soon, those bubbly three letters are going to be replaced with "AMD" or perhaps even nothing at all. That's right, after more than four years since its acquisition of one of the last Canadian companies I could brag about, ATI, AMD is planning to rid the name, and soon.

I think we all knew this was going to happen but it still makes me sad. While the products are far from dead, the name will be gone soon and that's a bummer in the fullest sense of the word.

They should just slap DAAMIT on their cards. Most tech monkeys know what that is and the rest of the people out there probably don't care.

I still have the packaging from my 9800 Pro. I miss pre-AMD ATI.
