Corporate restructuring is rarely news worthy, but when a CEO that took a company from near administration to profitability within 2 years and resigns, then it's worth paying attention. Dirk Meyers took the reigns of AMD in 2008 and turned it around for the better, so why is he resigning?

I caught wind of this late yesterday and you beat me to the punch. It'll be interesting to see who takes over and what way they take the company. I'm all about AMD's GPU's but the only thing I really like about their CPU's is the fact that AMD actually values backwards compatibility although AM3+ will kick off the next round unless what I read about AM2+ CPU's not being compatible is wrong.
