All pop songs are 4 chords?

Most "punk" songs back in the day were 4 power chords. Hell, there are still some songs out there that are. Look at Glycerin by Bush X (yeah, we had to tack on a X here in Canada) or Good by Better Than Ezra.

While they may not be pure 4 chord songs you can certainly get away with playing them that way.

***EDIT: Hahaha! Cripes! I was just about to post Take On Me by Aha and they played it.

You can't accuse bands like Alice In Chains, System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam or my personal favorite, Fear Factory of this.

It speaks volumes about both the music industry being complete hacks instead of visionaries driving the progression of popular music as we are supposed to believe but also about us as consumers. We are entertained by a measly four chords.
