A guide to HDTVs

No ROM battery
Koroush Ghazi, the creator of Tweakguides, has finished a rather comprehensive guide for HDTVs, covering every aspect of these devices.

Focused entirely on the technologies involved, the guide smartly avoids any and all discussion on brands or models, allowing readers to gain all the knowledge required to do informed purchasing decisions and making the most of their HDTV sets.

As Ghazi rightfully points out in the guide introduction, "The only way to make an educated decision, both at the time of purchase, and subsequently when adjusting the settings on your TV, is to develop a good understanding of the fundamental workings of HDTVs, combined with careful consideration of your own particular circumstances and tastes. This guide helps you to achieve just that, with information ranging from the very basic to more advanced topics."

The guide is free and the webpages designed so they can be easily printable if you wish to retain a physical copy. It is available here.

This is going to be a handy reference piece when we get one for the new house. We've already agreed that there will be at least a 42" screen hanging on the wall once we get settled and it's always been a bit of a grey area.
